Why is everyone multiboxing so many accounts now

Doubt

Hmm. This means I’m either liked or disliked. I’m a new player at 1.5 months with 24 characters and plan to multi-box. The sandbox aspect is very interesting. There was an initial investment made however that’s going to taper down with more patience and time I think.

CCP simply needs to come clean publicly and really advertise MB as an official and legit part of the game, and most importantly, start implementing designs around it to balance both single acct and MB crowds.

Otherwise the game will remain in the gray zone, and that really can’t be helpful to itself on the long term.

At which point has CCP not been clear about it?

Play eve the right way, and use alts.

The banner is old, but the promotion, once limited to valentine 2020, is now permanent and all alt account users have a “special offer” to buy their omega subscriptions at a reduced price.

There are many greyzones in eve, but whether multiboxing is legitimate is certainly not one of it.

Also, noone is asking them to do anything against multiboxing because almost everyone still playing eve these days is a multiboxer himself. What players are asking CCP to do is to provide new content that actually has diversion, which will as a side effect, be less afk (!) multiboxing capable then the ever repetitive PVE content they have not touched in a decade… with the exeptions of nerfs and removing/reducing the amount of available content when they were obsessed with the idea that if players had no rats to kill, they would kill each other instead in 2020 and '21, despite everyone and his dog telling CCP that you can’t gank a miner if he isn’t undocked because there is no ore for him to mine, and you can’t gank a marauder if there is no ratting content worthy of undocking the marauder, either. Unsubscriptions forced CCP to partially backpedal on their idea back in the day, but most players didn’t return.

I mean sure, ok. The advertisement side could be somewhat there, but needs a lot of work still to be perfectly clear on Multi account vs Single account gameplay.

Because as you say, they’re still falling waaaay short on the design side around it, as people still cling to single accounts, and don’t like the idea of paying for a game where they’d feel pushed to pay more for a playstyle they do not want / enjoy due to poor / unadapted design.

Yeah, most players didn’t return, because they know of CCPs unwillingness or just pure laziness to adapt new and radical designs along with their business models/decisions …

Maybe they will, someday, who knows… but they wont see a penny from my side till then.

This!

A base model M1 Mac mini (released November 2020, 8G RAM) can easily run three EVE Omega accounts at the same time using no third party software - the macOS version of EVE automatically assigns each EVE client to it’s own full size desktop screen, and CTRL-LEFT/CTRL-RIGHT switches between them.

Curious that CCP built “multi boxing” into the client. Sending a message?

The past year it had gotten to the stage that my addiction had changed from multiboxing into vet to alcohol consumption.

Somehow I managed to change my routine of mining to the point that my mind can now wonder back to the days of multiboxing mining instead of actually playing the game.

/ let’s take note though frosty had spent a tad over 400 usd on various transactions last year.

Just not the normal amount due to my addiction.

… lol

because the market in high sec is dead, can’t sell anything, can’t buy anything without going to jita these days

You say that, but I sell everything I make above Jita prices, and buy everything I need without having to go to Jita, somewhere I haven’t been for years.

Farming on multiple accounts means getting more money for ccp and more iskies for yourself win win in there eyes

High multiboxers dont swiping for Omega.

More isk farming does not equal to a good game or good gameplay on the long run.

There was a time in Eve where making isk was viewed as secondary and superfluous.

That’s not what I meant by win win I meant multi boxer gets more idk and ccp makes more money not as in good for game.

yes, that is by default / design now.

You suggest such yet the decision to introduce the option to change the way our ships look had been taken rather lightly by your statement.

I’m going to suggest that you are wrong as the more isk that is farmed then the more sales made within the new feature of Skinnr.

You crack me up. Lmao

CCP surely only gets more money if PLEX or Omega subs are bought directly. People PLEX-ing their accounts are surely not making CCP any money at all…they are basically getting a ‘free’ account by grinding…but no extra dosh goes into CCPs coffers as a result. If those accounts are SP farmed then CCP might make a little if PLEX is used to purchase, but then if that PLEX arose via ISK to PLEX conversion from purely grinded ISK from a PLEX-ed account then where’s the money coming from ?

Now? Now??

It’s the same as it’s always been. The game is N+1, whether it’s PVP, PVE or mining.

Easier kills, faster ISK, higher yields.

The real question is why does CCP still pretend like input-broadcasting is against TOS when it’s clearly used by all the 15-40 man multiboxer fleets. Just give us an in-game broadcast input for all of our toons to level the playing field.

All accounts that are omega are paying for themselves, one way or another, and that money, regardless of method used, goes directly into CCPs pocket. If they are PLEXing it is actually worth MORE to CCP than Omega $$$ subs.

By grinding isk and then buying PLEX they are “selling” isk legally to the other player in exchange for the $$$ bought PLEX in the first place from CCP. This has always been CCPs response to illegal isk sellers, to take some of the market away from them by allowing a legal method for it but only for game time through PLEX usages. It creates competition for isk sellers and often makes it more unprofitable for them to operate or set prices for their product… “if you cant beat them… join them!”

So you are showing a bit of a lack of understanding how how the system works with our response Gloria.
