Why is the game so complicated?

It seems you didn’t get notice about the EVE Online Forever initiative. So it will run for quite a while.

Also i can speak only for me, but i find it quite entertaining ingame, on zkillboard and also on the forums with funny threads like this one. No other game that i know is close to delivering this full package.

Actually they do let you know that this is a game that is a hard core PVP… Blow past the fact that with even a cursory look would be informed that EVE Online is a PVP game. Even the tutorial, as short as it is, are told that even in highsec one is only relatively safe. Yet people will blow past this all the time.

Then act surprised that their new shiny blinged out substandard fit just went up in a pretty fireball. Anyone that has been in the game has been paying any attention. Will know that literally no one is exempt at being shot at one time or another. That losing a ship is just a Monday or maybe a Tuesday. To blow past all this is just setting themselves up for rage/quit post. And that is indeed just another Tuesday.

I’m not multi-boxing and just have like two or three omega pilots but I’m just not caring about this New Eden stuff because nobody wants to be friends.

So what you are saying is that we should run locator agents in December to find your carrier in LS?

No carrier but an interesting honor tanked Kronos spotted.

I managed to complete the L5 mission with the Carrier once. Then I ran out of money and had to sell the Carrier.

I lost 1 Kronos during transport and 2 Kronos due to an item bug. But I’ve improved my money-making skills quite a bit; 500 million a day is child’s play for me now  So if you check again in a week, you might see my Carrier. Since I’m constantly scanning with my second account, if I can see you, you might not be able to see me

Excellent , so should only take you 2 days to get me a gucci

If you have a lot of free time, good luck

You can also get me a Kronos

Thanks Sweetie

Whoever does it, post the vid.

That sounds like a command destroyer with a micro jump field generator jumped your ship 100km off the station. There are 4 command dessi, one for each faction. But all of them have to get within 5km of you to do it and there is an activation time. So if you know the game well enough you dock when you see a Magus Bifrost, Stork or Pontifex. You have to be within 300m of the station to dock so sometimes they will attempt to bump you out of docking range before they warp in the command destroyer. 100km is still within range of the station guns, so if they illegally attack you, the guns will attack the assailant, therefore even after the command destroyer has jumped you , if it warp scrambles your ship the station guns will kill destroy the destroyer pretty quickly. So they need a collection of other ships to actually stop you from just warping off at that point.

The point is this is how much thought has gone into killing you and the only reason they make the effort is because you brought a ship that will look good on their killboard.

What you have to understand about Eve is that everywhere outside of high sec is inhabited by psychopaths that kill for the sake of killing. It’s just a matter of them figuring out how to do it.

That’s not the whole story, sometimes they are territorial.

It’s like an eco system, gangs form, gangs grow, gangs recruit because the bigger gang can dominate and protect itself from other gangs. Thus they are quite keen for you to join them and if you intend to exist outside of high-sec then it’s not a bad idea.

As a lone unaligned pilot they don’t actually have any need to destroy your ship because you are not a significant threat. You might kill a ship or two but they plan to lose ships every day.

They say don’t fly a ship you can’t afford to lose, but if you PVP you need to be able to lose that ship every day. or every hour. because we are immortal, and most of the time there is zero intention of docking back up in one piece, it’s just a matter of how much destruction can be caused before yourself gets destroyed.

As a factional warfare player I am prepared to RP and not kill a venture that goes into low sec to experiment mining hedbergite but I’m a minority, most people will slaughter that without a second thought.

A rattlesnake in low sec. People aren’t going to assume you are on your own, unless they look at your killboard and see you lost a rattlesnake every day this week, then it’s Christmas turkey for the boys, get the chainsaw and your ship becomes a giant pinata.

Because in its original form, the game was designed to be hard for a nitch group of players. As the game went mainstream, it could not shake its roots and make it viable for everyone.

What I want is all that matters

No get yourself back into the get likes thread orelse

Hello again, after a long time.

Over the past months I focused on learning how to avoid PvP instead of feeding it. In the process, I improved a lot — both mechanically and mentally. And I came to a simple realization: at the level I’m at now, losing one or two Rattlesnakes is not some catastrophic event. It’s pocket change compared to what I’ve learned.

I sometimes read the forum threads that used to frustrate me. Posts that once felt arrogant or unnecessarily harsh now make perfect sense. Not because I suddenly agree with everything — but because I finally understand the mindset behind them.

The Carrier idea I talked about before wasn’t about dominance. It was about control. My thinking was: “If I get caught 1 vs 2, at least I can escalate.” But now I see something more important — if you actually pay attention, you don’t have to escalate at all. You don’t have to fight. You don’t even have to be content for someone else.

Yes, I want PvP. But let’s be honest — much of EVE’s PvP culture revolves around opportunism dressed up as skill. Blobs, bait, cynos, third parties — then people call it “elite gameplay.” That mentality doesn’t impress me anymore.

Right now, I’m in a position where I choose my engagements. And that feels far more powerful than forcing fights just to prove something.

Fly dangerous — or fly smart. I know which one I prefer.

If you’re losing so many Rattlesnakes, looking for a bigger ship isn’t going to solve your issues.

It’s just going to make you lose more money each loss.

Some new players have this problem that they enter the game with the idea that ‘bigger is better’.

Most other people learn quick enough that this isn’t the case in EVE.

Yes, I’ve been playing this game for a long time—about 15 years—but I can honestly say that what I’ve learned in the past few months is nothing compared to what I learned over those 15 years. My current goal isn’t bigger ships or better PvP; my goal right now is bigger ships for more PvE. At the moment, I’m playing both with a carrier during quiet times when no one is around, and with a Kronos during peak hours—and I’m really enjoying it.
