I really wish you guys at CCP would stop listening to the few voices from large alliances and the small combat driven segment of the game on reddit and start listening to all the smaller than those groups and individual players.
Ore collection rates could have been solved by drastically increasing the respawn times for ore anoms. Small groups are not hurt by this. Large groups are forced to spread out, increasing their risk.
The changes to carriers remove effectively the last tool small groups have to deal with enemies that outnumber them. To hell with the NSA change that keeps you from warping, keep it, whatever the pvp players want. But give us back the damage application. We already had enough trouble, now itās effectively impossible to do damage to enemy fleets, even with ewar support on enemy ships.
And do note, any voices speaking out against this are silenced on reddit. They are downvoted, others have reported their posts/threads being hidden by moderators. You are only hearing from people who control what they want you to hear. This has been the case for at least a few years.
How many issues that kill off the individual player and the small group must be ignored until something changes? Iām genuinely curious if itās you really donāt know how bad it is for groups that arenāt massive, or itās something else?
We have players that cannot undock due to hostile activity that cannot be countered (cloaked enemies in system), assets that can be shut down by enemy forces at any time if they spend ~15 minutes (flex navigation structures) of which cannot be defended well, or at all in the case of enemies using micro jump field generators, and as a whole constant harassment which drives our members and our allies into doing something other than play your game, or at worst case quit completely. The list goes on but Iām not trying to make this wall of text any bigger.
I donāt claim to have all the answers, nor to know whatās best. I play the game because thereās nothing else like it, and thatās about it. All I want is an even playing field, is that really too much to ask?
It would be just ruddy amazing if I did not have to authorize my pc every time I reboot the patcher (has been happening since the Apr release). No IP change (either external or internal network) and using the exact same pc, but no, e-mail verification yet again.
If you could just manage to fix that I could ignore the real issues like the chat system (which I swear you said you were going t o rollback if it was not fixed by now), war decs (which should have been removed entirely as recommended by the CSM), the crappy patcher (so much less intuitive than the old one), the mining changes, the carrier changes, and how you absolutely fawn over the megacorps.
This is a simple case of where CCP and CSM have completely missed what the players want with their own greed and self belief they know that is best for the game. The capital nerfs are a mistake as are many of the other change. The stations are too dark and All these are labelled as great you only need to look at the numbers playing since these changes. The numbers have dropped and even now the numbers are really small. At the moment as in every patch the game is completely unstable, has not been tested and exactly what we expect from CCP
No complaints at all from the release, all looks good. However, there is a lot of self entitled whining in this thread. Adapt or die, I believe is the saying.
Granted having some element of danger puts some excitement in the game, however when players who are simply trying to enjoy some of the non-PvP aspects of Eve are perpetually being ganked and forced into PvP encounters (being those who are typically not experienced with PvP and have little interest in getting experienced in it and so will always be at a disadvantage), then it becomes a terribly un-fun experience.
CCP either needs to provide means for non-PvPers to actually fight back and defend their ships, structures, and activities (without having to rely on all-too-often ineffective allies), or simply making it more difficult for the bullies to pick on the little guys.
Ideally youād want to do the former. Which might entail making structures more defensible without being a PvP expert or fielding giant defense fleets, and the like. The problem isā¦ when the encounters become more risky for the bullies, they donāt want to risk their assets, or lose more assets in the process of bullying. Though it would be great for the economy if they could still expect a win, but it would simply ācostā them more in their own assets to actually win like that.
Itās a difficult balance, between pushing people away from the game because of continual harassment, and making sure things still go boom to keep the economy functioning.
Perhaps they might consider more non-PvP ISK / material sinks. Like upkeep costs (not just in ISK though, but in materials), and other things which require game-play rather than just throwing ISK at it.
I like the Caldari lighting myself, but I can see how it might be darker than others enjoy. I would really like to see the old Quafe/Pleasure Station hanger return, as well as others like it.
This release sees the first update of an ongoing iteration of hangar visuals. Hangars have now been moved over into our Space Object Factory system, which improves maintenance and allows easier updating of the visuals going forward. What you will see is brand new lighting! The lighting has been reworked with a focus on the ship, with more contrast, color and life being the order of the day.
Seriously?
You guys must either be scared of losing your jobs or youāre just plain bored. Either way, thereās no reason to mess around with stuff like that when thereās lotās of other stuff in the game that needs to be worked on, like reducing the damn graphics heavy lighting you guys placed on the outside of stations.
Miscellaneous:
A new monument honoring the journey of Katia Sae has been erected in the Saisio system by the Achura Stargazers Society
Planet Yulai IX has been renamed to Yulai IX (Kjarval) in honor of CCP Guard.
Iām glad to see this has been implemented and I wouldnāt call it Miscellaneous. This is definitely a great addition to the game.
The Impetus Glamourex boosters now have an expiry date. The last date to safely consume them will be October 6th 2019.
Why was this change implemented? Itās not like thereās a ton of these available. It was a special gift and something that should only be used for a special occasion, such as first run all Epic Arcs but donāt complete them with agents, then consume the social boosters and then visit all the agents and turn in all the arcs for massive standing boostā¦
It seems you guys are constantly messing around with small stuff and keep ignoring the big stuff.
OK, I checked out the Hangar lighting and raised the āBrightnessā setting a little in Esc menu. Can see everything just fine and it all looks good.
EDIT:
I did notice thereās a lot more electrical shortās happening on my docking bay now, maybe should bring āScottyā the Docking Manager back out of retirement.
I have a feeling they are going to make it non-special, by issuing it again on special occasions, or drop as rare loot in future seasonal Events. They can also do things like nerf the stats of future editions. They have done this kind of thing before, for the Spirit SKIN line - YC date was stripped from the name. From āspecialā to non-special, and the SKINās have been re-issued a few times.
I make named and dated cans for special loot, so I can remember where XYZ item first came from. Its getting more and more important to sort things, because the Special Edition Commodities category is getting huge, and āEVE is forever,ā right? CCP can change an item, but they are not likely to change the container I put it in
Oh my god, maybe you will have to corp your logi behind ! Oh my god, maybe it will be less easy for you ! Oh my god, you will descover a new world ! Oh my god, you are lucky !
Regarding the glamourex boosters, they are completely overpowered and should have had an expirey of one month. For a measly 30 mil on a potency 50 you can straight up decline anything that isnāt the mission you want doing IVs. With the 75 you can do that with Vs. And itās not like they last a couple hours, they last TWO DAYS.
Course if it becomes commonplace drops in Events, then itās no longer āspecialā and yeah, needs an expire timer.
However, the social boosters currently in the game were a first time issue and only a limited amount of them were distributed. The Nex-Gen of Social boosters can have the timer on them.
Doesnāt matter if theyāre overpowered, there was only a limited amount of them distributed into the game without an expiration timer. That right there makes them valuable and over time there wouldnāt be very many left.
So now that special Christmas Gift is no longer special because CCP is too lazy to code another type of Social booster.
