I am very sorry that I saw the text edition only today. If I saw earlier, I would not support the last account in the status of omega much earlier.

Do feel free to look up how much ccp stock hilmar held when PA bought them and ask yourself "I wonder if hilmar is real worried about keeping his job?
-
So youâre accusing hilmar of tax fraud?
That graphic made me giggle some.
The truth is, probably is that the population of the game is roughly about 48% alts. This is why ccp stop publishing this data, because its getting really bad and they dont know how to fix it.
To fight alt spam, the game is going to have to take some difference approaches in mentality. Like shifting a lot of the adversion over to actual isk costs and time gates from skill capped production. It was a bad move on ccpâs part to push things behind âthis level to build more stuffâ sorta of thing, and should of been shifted largely to station related mechanics and limitations. The plus side to this is that if eve was to shift to those sorts of mechanics, alt spam would reduce, weâd gain economic health, and a massive amount of validation to stations (provided ccp was smart enough to apply hard caps to the amount of stations a corporation can own).
A lot of this alt stuff is due to lack of hard caps, and lack of limitations being applied to the game, to be honest, the alt limitations just does not work, because in 3 minutes you can expand that production significantly all be it less efficient.
thats just tackling the production / research sides of it, we still have to address mining (which can be done very easily) and ratting spam (likely the more difficult one because it involves lots of base code modifications).
This is not tax fraud, its more like lying to the board of directors and the playerbase. sadly, this occurs more often then youâd like to know in the industry (iv caught blizzard doing it).
how do you propose to circumvent human nature?
if its an mmo, i guarantee you, weâll be there
easy way to fix that. multiple associated corps.
Trying to stop is is not good, and ultimately a self defeating path. Its better to control what options they have. This enables the development team to control balance better, and still give options for players to experiment, customize etc (which i term âplayer expressive contentâ).
If players and the development team feel the options for customization are to many, or two few, they can augment it accordingly.
Players (and humans) default to a super ant mentality, where they are always busy looking for a way they can apply the most efficient, with less effort required to accomplish a goal.
In this case, the development team got lazy and allowed them to spam alts, which has had a destructive impact on the game. The game is diseased. ITs really really bad, people dont realize it exactly, they know something is wrong, but dont know what.
Its been blinded by half baked implementations of design passes, which have masked it, but disease spreads, and as a result ultimately you cant reject the state of the body.
IF you did not understand that, a more simplistic way of putting it is that the population spamming alts have eroded the very fabric of social interaction here. Imagine what would happen to our society if we could clone yourself and send our clones to work, and then make a few more clones and send them to work. Think of the outcome, now think of eve. Maybe you will understand.
Not if they are locked to corporation. IE, players can for example only build in their corps stations. and if corporations had population caps, You cant circumvent it then. This has to be done in a way that makes creating a new account lose the advantages, and keeping and using the old one gain more.
For example
200% isk/time cost on new accounts because of X
While people on main gain 50% faster build time because of Y
Hardcaps applied.
They will stop making alts.
CCP donât care how many alts we have as long as there paid alts âaccountsâ and why anyone whinges about alts beats me, even if you have 50 Omega accounts mining ya little cotton socks off good for you.
So unless this is about - he has more the me and its not fair then meh
hey how about the weather we been having nice heyâŚ
thereâs a crapload of single purpose alts out there. for varoius reasons. things liek cyno alts, contract alts (used to obscure the actual freighter pilot), etc. thereâs quite a few reasons to use alts, between obfuscation, security, etc. same idea as having service accounts in Active Directory.
This is a recent change. Actually youâd be suprised they track this information.
Each launcher has an ID assigned to it called âunique IDâsâ.
Every time an account accesses it, it records that information, and they are able to compare the accounts accessed by that launcher.
This allows them to see what accounts are what status and if they are running at the same time, though there is probably some automated aspect of it that checks alpha/omega status.
They do care, The issue however is that its a really big was of time and energy to try to actively control these aspects of the game (multiboxing etc). Out side of the way in which they design content, they really should not invest a lot of development resources (ie devs time) to it.
A more simplistic way of putting this is:
âThey need to design the game in a way that requires players to pay attention to what they are doing, in a similar or more intense way they do in pvpâ.
If you sit down and look at it, you will see a large amount of it is because of hard caps to activities.
Examples
More alts for more planets in PI
More alts for more production in Industry
More alts for more ore in mining
More alts for more isk in Ratting
More alts for more research /invention jobs
(hell this was even done in botting with trade missions)
Where you dont see a lot of it is in pvp, and when you do, its often insurance efficient ships (usually battleships or cruisers). There is a very clear sign here for those who reflect and can reason between the above, and pvp.
The âthis many skill levels to this many planets, production ques, research, etcâ needs to go off toons.
i mean, for many things, itâs less skill reqs, more because massively parallel production is more efficent, cheaper, and faster. for example building caps⌠you need to build components first. even bigger example, invention. heck, i use an alt for invention alongside my main because slots are limited, and all you get are like 5 run bpcs at most. itâs a huge PITA to do with 1 toon. much the same if you do alot of PI.
All of those systems need a full rework.
The concept of capital components needs to be deleted.
All forms of content should not exceed 3 stages.
For Example Mine > Refine > Build
Research and other types of game play invalidate this. This is why there is so much complexity in the game. A LOT of work needs to be done to fix the many systems here violating this. complexity can remain in a 3 stage system, but really that involves one of them being the collection of resources (so it really has to be done in a build > improve set of phases).
I did not say that they should rely on people who buy plex but multi-account holders and plex buyers are by their very nature worth more to CCPs bottom line.
I am not an american either, I was just stating the fact that your comment sounded like a typical uneducated person from the USA.
thatâs why itâs called industry not crafting or building
Yeah, and a gourmet restaurant makes less money than a MacDonalds. So now according to your logic they should just stop with this nonsense French cuisine and start flipping burgers?
You seem to have no clue what market segmentation is. EVE is an absolute success, there are not many games that live that long and generate that amount of revenue over such a long period of time. It us not #1, but it is certainly in the top 100 and that is an incredible achievement.
Go now and program your carebear centric âEVE killerâ and come again when you have at least a fraction of what CCP achieved with this game!
Itâs like a battle of wits, and heâs unarmed.
