Well that explains the obsessional behaviour on these forums by certain people.
Maybe you can teach them to bind a troll macro to F1 so they can help you on the forums when you shout “post”
you seem to be fixated on that f1 button, do you really not use any others?
Ouch… Khadgar says knowledge is power. So does the Minmatar ruling council.
Honestly if they intend to nerf corporations, which is what they would be doing by allowing you to be in one without the threat of war dec, then they probably should nerf the tax rates those corporations are allowed to get.
It seems being in a corp without the threat should have a negative consequence, and maybe that should be tax.
I really hope they don’t choose that as “fix”. Wardecs are not per definition a bad thing, just the sensless spam of them.
i think nerfing what they can realistically do as a corporation is enough tbvh but that does leave it open to abuse, for example one doesnt need to own an athanor or ihub to make use of them.
I still believe the logical answer is to have to own a structure to be war decd. But maybe not being able to be war decd should also have a consequence.
Maybe also give a option to all corporations to also leave war decs on regardless.
Again you dont need to own a structure to make use of it.
I think limiting member counts and skill points would work, so you could have an alpha only corp for example… no wait that could be abused too…
Its a tough subject.
Personally I think a well thought out contract system would do the job, it could limit wardecks by having to go through the proper channels and needing the right skills whilst actually creating an actual merc profesion.
open to abuse but i like the idea of having actual merc contracts based on several factors; if you make the contracts particularly awkward to ‘fill out’ by stating lots of options and differing ways to pay, specifying targets and so on blanket decs will be incredibly limited.
No many people want to spend 10 minutes filling out forms for a blanket dec they might not even get any kills from.
I also like the idea of having an actual bonified bounty hunting system including skills and so on but meh, not like that would ever be done.
but i think if ccp somehow made it so that wardecks tracked sp of each character newbro corps could easily avoid decs if everyone was under 5 mil sp.
They would likely have to be feeder corps but still give new players a modicum of time to adjust to eve before being greifed out of game.
If they were to limit corp types i think skill points would have to come into it somehow…
Relegating wardecks to structures only isnt a great idea but a mixture of all probably would make an ideal system; the problem is it would be overcomplicated…
and that is really why we have the wardeck system as is…
Also greifwatch didnt really help.
Honestly most wardecs for large wardeccing corps and alliances are a waste of money and result in zero kills. It’s mostly prospective deccing. The ones that do yield kills tend to be those against null alliances or large bloated nub tax farming incentives, the latter being merely an opportunity to provide content and kills for them, especially the hub campers.
I’m not sure where we should go. I wouldn’t want to see wardecs go completely, but I do think some form of time or experience based buffer is needed to allow new players to grow. How that would be implemented I’m not sure.
Ah, I thought that was what you were referring to. I actually printed out all 53 pages and took notes while reading. You should have included the next sentence:
“This does however still affect new players such as in Karmafleet, Brave Newbies and so on indirectly through which corporations are being decced. The CSM feels that looking at the corporations being decced is not the approach but rather we should focus on the the age and retention rates of the players who die due to war.”
That was actually brought up before CCP Larrikin showed the CSM the stats.
And you should have read the forum link I posted, Lets see what someone who looked at the data said:
Maybe I did read it correctly then……………………
Wardecs are loosing players CCP/CSM have alledgely reported multiple wardecs against new player corps make them leave Eve Online. Bad Juju.
Maybe they should rework Hi Sec completely as part of a War Dec fix.
Its been broken for years.
I agree get rid of concord as well.
Personally I think that raising the cost of decs to say 1B minimum, then increase costs much like the old system according to number or corps in alliance or corp members would be a good place to start. It would maybe result in fewer filler decs by large merc alliances and bring the system more in line with the idea that someone is paying for a service. Surely if you want someone dead that much you’re more likely to pay a higher price for a service, and merc corps would benefit from this by being able to add their own cut. It also pushes selection of merc corp towards a demonstration of results.
Idk. Probably brought up before.
Maybe moving some of the reasons for wardec’ing to new gameplay as well.
Tora Bushido quoted me 2.5 billion for a war dec on CODE and friends per week. Rip off with mates playing with mates screwing over the uneducated. Made me laugh, hard.
Screwing people over is the essence of the game. Kitchens are hot.
Yeah and laughed hard I did.
