Chaos Era Continues - Cyno Update

And yet there’s nothing stopping them from providing both options.
Freight cyno or covert.
If you want to spend the time training, go for it. The ships are more costly but the cynos are shorter. Otherwise there’s always the cheap option.
Sadly they took about a week to rescind their update notes, so they least they can do is keep the old option in addition to the newer, cheaper one.

Hauling minerals around, enough to build constantly, is a pain - Compressed ore, refining and manufacturing in NPC stations would yield more waste and cost than it is worth.

tell you what, as you seem to think its viable. How about i give you my cyno locations and you build them for me - At reasonable cost of course.

WTF people. A dev announces JFs will now jump to covert cynos. You have time to train. I throw 700k skill points to get a jump start on training. Nope. Just kidding.

Seriously, WTF.

I would be interested to know where your mids that give you concern are but I’m afraid my days of building T1 ships for profit are passed.

Thats my summer of skills SP wasted on 4 characters then. Made the whole thing rather pointless.
very disappointed.

The easiest thing for all parties would have been to make a specific module for vigils and give it some significance.

This is an knee jerk reaction to fix cyno proliferation. Should have just disallowed on capitals and made Cyno Gen I have an immense fitting requirement (3-5x’s it’s current CPU and PG). Then fine tuned from there. There is no realistic thought process to blackops BS’s and force recons only. I am an active hunter and don’t even like this change. It’s just going to push people into the massive blocs even more and prevent content from happening. At least with an open ship variety and forcing players to sacrifice other fittings to fit a cyno it allowed for some game-ism.

The “Chaos Era” the era where ccp admits it hasn’t got a clue.

@CCP_Rise
When is the bpo for this new module going to be added before or after the change?
What will be the build cost?
What will it take to build it? skill/minerals?
What will the cost of said BPO be?
Where will the bpo be seeded?

Hang on. Yer rockin’ around in a 12-billion-ISK+ JF, and complaining about the cost of Badger IIs?

Yes let’s bow down to the test alliance overlords. This is 100% to keep those useless nullbears happy. Stop backing off changes in the name of keeping the carebears happy, that mentality is what got us in this mess in the first place.

The only price involved is time. Time and inconvenience. The isk value is meaningless. This change basically makes the already tedious, even more tedious (lmao how is that even possible!!!) – well now we know.

I was really looking forward to this one and it’s sad that you feel the need to back down on game mechanics instead of just making a new module for the commemorative ops.

There will be a covert cyno vigil tonight somewhere in space to pay respect to this dead-on-arrival feature. Feel free to join me.

Yes, nothing makes me happier than finding out I just effectively wasted a bunch of SP.

can the hauler shield recharge shenanigans be sorted out? current state is totally absurd. stacking penalty on purgers and SPRs would do it, and help discourage this degenerate tanking-style generally

Agreed. Bump.

I think if its going to be a true industrial cyno that Jump Freighters and Rorqual should both be able to jump to them otherwise it should just be called a logistics cyno

Why limit it to industrial hulls instead of allowing it on smaller hulls?

The proposal was crap - all it would have done was make JF essentially immune in LS and Null.

What ccp doesnt seem to get is that it is difficult to get fights in Eve. By allowing any ship to fit a cyno, it created gamenship where you could bait and escalate all while keeping the other side guessing. All that is effectively gone. As a result the calculation as to whether you are going to win is going to be easier to make just by looking at the ships on grid. Consequently, this change is going to suppress fights - people are just going to look whats on field and either say they can win or not - and if they cant they are going to stay out of it - unless of course they have recons etc… on standby.

There would have been no change. Cynos can still self destruct just after lighting a cyno and jumping to it. Jump freighters still die anyway, this just smacks of people needing those easy kill beacons even more with content drying up everywhere.
