Chaos Era Continues - Cyno Update

Thats the difference. “got to use” and “hey, theres a solo cruiser, lets drop 50 dreads, 9 supers, and 4 titans on it…just because we can” are two different things.

and what, if anything, will this change do to prevent that?

SPOILER: We can still drop whatever we see on an instant’s notice with this change.

It’s just impossible for you small brained bads to see outside of your righclick - jump stealth bomber playstyle bubble. This will murder the playerbase outside of big blocks thus reducing the amount of activity in the game. The fact you can’t see beyond the already debunked and disproven hypothetical “lol goons/panfam/test can’t drop supers now!!” narrative is concerning and demonstrates you guys clearly should not be the ones who advise or suggest ideas for this game. We will still be doing the same ■■■■ we always do, you will still die. So you roll a wormhole to a new region but guess what?! No one is there. You killed everywhere except for the umbrella space who knows how to respond to you. Congrats.

Meh.

The reason CCPs decision bugs me is, it makes little sense to me. They have massively liberated capital gameplay, now clamping down on it with simple cyno changes. Do you think cynos were a problem before the following iterations of capital gameplay? Consider the timeline:

Step 1: Rorqual overhauled; mining allows massive production of capital ships (mineral abundance)
Step 2: Carriers from above production allows everyone to rat in carriers for cheap (so-called isk faucet)
Step 3: Reduction of fatigue by 95% (capitals FREE!)
Step 4: Ansiblex super-highway with 0 fatigue

Now CCP is like, “oh no capitals are too good and too mobile, how fix? let’s take a dump on the cyno mechanics” and then do nothing about the reason we got here in the first place.

I think they have to commit to fatigue being a factor or not. I can still not understand why they have crippled the one mechanic that seemed to keep capital power in check; mobility. If it took days to move a super fleet across the galaxy, and that sort of justified their oppressive power, why take that away and then be surprised that their projection improved? So why do we still have fatigue if it’s only there to be mildly annoying?

The incredible shortsightedness on CCPs behalf is staggering. This affects the economy in so many ways: T2 production, capital + super production, market traders, ratters, miners and so on. Plenty of people have had their personal economy and gameplay style turned upside down at the moment they pressed Submit on that post. It’s so extreme all force recons have been bought out in Jita, everyone are putting their carriers supers and rorqs on firesales. Who wants to own ships that can no longer be used?

The only way I see this is that covert ops ships are currently very strong, now they got stronger. And a lot of PVE sided activities just got shafted even harder. Already is nullsec largely at mercy of the cov ops hunters. Now the blackops and covops cruisers are the only ones able to drop on you. Yay. Cloaky ships being overpowered in the blackout - who would have thought. Then give those exact ships the exclusive power to drop the hammer. NEXT  MEME

Show us a biomass screen shot or stuff it bud.

@Grath_Telkin the best part of this is it’s a step towards marauders becoming viable again…

Are you also going to lower the skill requirement for covert cyno from 5 to 4? This should ease the burden of getting a cyno chain in position a lot as that train alone is pretty damn long.

CCP Logic

Use Nullsec Powerblocks as the advertising for the game

“Play the Free Record-Breaking Space Sandbox MMO Game EVE Online”

Ignore the fact that all the Media attention the game has ever gotten is from big alliance fights

Forget the fact that the only books that exist about the wars in the game are about The Empires of Eve

Get the Ideas for Game design changes from Reddit Trolls

Try to make changes to get back players that have already quit playing EVE

And CCP’s message to its current “Active Player Base”

“DO YOU GUYS NOT HAVE PHONES”

Like to see how you guys fudge the login numbers in a couple of months time

This little meme phrase you guys keep using is so historically terrible and ironic I don’t immediately know how to dissassemble it like the cheap IKEA furniture of a quotable it is. When I do blackops and elite pvp I don’t have any issues killing stuff. How come you do? How come you are so god awful at playing this game you need the EVE dev team to make extreme nerfs to give you a kill? If you can’t kill stuff as the game is currently you probably just aren’t a pvp duder. If you can’t put the effort in to hunt and find suitable targets then you probably just aren’t a pvp duder. If you can’t understand how this will VASTLY reduce the amount of good targets in space and nuke the remaining hunting regions to wastelands then you have no foward thinking lofic and probably just aren’t a pvp duder. Just because you are terrible at this game does not mean others should suffer for it, get gud.

OMG! did Fozzy think of this? because this has retarded written all over it.

I think cyno’s make a hell of alot of content. a miner gets hot dropped. frig with a cyno. in come the dreads. miner lightes his cyno, in come caps. both sides throw caps at each other creating content.
just my 2cents

Having bare minimum safery/backup will happen very seldom with all the boring tasks added(scouts, fax, gate camps on standby).
Forget the game getting harder, this will kill the game because people will log out unable to do anything and eventually question the point of having a subscription.
I don’t see a fair balance of risk/reward for a guy that want to go out mining with a rorqual.

You’re wrong. Its that big block mentality that you have, you can’t see the field through the bushes.

Please tell me how I’m wrong, I’ll wait.

There’s actually 2 full sentences here, but not one actual arguing point.

It’s just…“You’re wrong”

Well…I say you’re wrong, how about that?

I think CCP is intentionally doing these things to make the Null blocks move into the center of the game and then plan on shrinking the overall size of the game. much like server mergers in other multishard games. Its a move they do when the game is getting too “empty”

Why do you think CCP now SELL skill points. You don’t think they took that into consideration with this, the next in a line of relatively useless changes.

The only ones to be really affected by this are the smaller groups, less wealthy players who live in Nulsec. Those who run JF’s but can’t afford to train up 5 or 6 covert cyno alts are all but screwed by yet another poorly thought out change by CCP.

If the only tool one has is a hammer, every problem begins to look like a nail.

What I mean is, to these null sec alliances, their “win button” is no longer player skill. Its who has the caps (the most).

Very rare is it these days that I can go out and roam without getting hotdropped. It is the largest killer of small, medium, and large gang content.

Sure, it also creates content, but not nearly as much as it detracts from the game.

These nullbears just want the “win button” they’ve been using to ward off people that actually know how to pvp.

This is a time of reckoning, and it has been needed for well over a decade now.

When was the last time you saw low sec battleship gangs that weren’t part of a major power block? You know why you don’t see them? I’ll give you a guess.

As the old saying goes: “put your balls in the low slots”

Null sec blocs already have the isk, they don’t need the win button too. Get goods.

Not really, covert cyno’s don’t show up in local, they only last 60 seconds base and they can be fit on ships with cloaks, you’re actually going to be able to move about a lot easier and faster without the need to blow up the cyno ship in the first place

Sweet, maybe roaming and small gang pvp will come back to life
