Chaos Era Continues - Cyno Update

someone asked what other games to try since they think Eve is going down. maybe Star Citizen?

I actually feel for CCP Rise - He obviously got dumped with this in the hope it wouldn’t be received so badly.

Had Fozzie or Falcon put their names to it - Everyone could have just gone, Oh damn, here we go again.

You bet this sh*t needs further attention, how about no cynos on capitals or giving a cyno a maximum mass that can pass thru like a WH. Or require capacitor or something. Or if you’re going to go asinine, at least reduce the cycle time, who the F**K is going to be stupid enough to light a cyno on a 1.2 bil isk BLOPS Battleship? Did you even think about this?

I know, I feel like they were too cowardly to suggest this ■■■■ idea.

As one of the more prominent personalities in Delve homeland defense I have been pushing for some time now that people should respond to small gangs WITH small gangs, it’s just a waste of jump fuel. With that said - if you bring in 50 lokis or some ■■■■ why should you be able to fly around my space with no resistance? Especially battleships?

This is very ironic b/c this is the very thing these ~elite pvp~ groups are looking for - an “I win” button. A way to come in, kill, and get out with no skill needed, no effort needed, and no strategy needed. This is easy mode on steroids. You know what I did when I was hunting supers and rorquals? I researched, put in effort, and found numerous targets who were vulnerable. Sorry that you have to work for something, can’t wait till you get out of your parent’s house into the real world - it will be quite the shocker for you.

I fear that you’re idea of “good” is severely skewed. You know the last time I saw a battleship fleet in lowsec? 2009. You know why? Because people grew out of them and the strategy changed. Also there are plenty of ships that can accomplish the same exact thing that are much faster and useful. You’re sort of exposing your hand on this one - and that hand is showing you clearly don’t know what the hell you’re talking about when it comes to pvp.

I lived there for 6 damn years, it is OP AF if you are in one of the three or four large groups… just like Null Sec.

You’re sort of exposing your hand on this one - and that hand is showing you clearly don’t know what the hell you’re talking about when it comes to pvp.

Or maybe he, like many of us, just want to see some variety in the game again?

Define variety please. Last I checked, almost every aspect of the game is played in Null, from industry to exploration? So again, define variety.

Here’s what will happen: we’ll shift to a different doctrine that counters your bad gameplay and then you will start crying about how that needs to get nerfed. The cycle will go on and on until you realize “WAIT, maybe… I’m just really bad at this game”

I think you might have a skewed view of it if that’s what you think. I’ve run two smaller groups since about 2015 in J-Space, before I finally joined LZHX at the start of this year - yeah, hawks is extremely well structured and experienced, but how is that ‘OP AF’? I had no trouble with two smaller, inexperienced groups. We had fun, we killed stuff.

Yet in the end you joined one of the oppressors.
Hmm sounds like Nul to me.

I understand that you are trying to make the game so that even small groups can do things and have fun. This will not bode well for them though. How do you suppose ships will get out of an area once they strike? I am pretty sure it will be the express flight home. It may even make them not want to go there in the first place. So I am wondering why you are doing things that will result in a net reduction of pvp? Blackout seems to have caused a reduction in pvp. Nerfing VNI’s to the point that nobody uses them now resulted in them not being out to kill. Now this nerf to pvp. You say one thing, but do another. This is no way to make things better.

I don’t really know how I feel about the change. I can fly recons, have cyno V, and can fly covert ops, so I am good as far as moving what ever I need moved goes. It does of course eliminate several toons that I use for cynos, though I don’t have any cyno only toons but training that many toons to recons and/or cyno V just doesn’t work.
I really don’t like the limit of ships that can use cynos but there are already modules that only work on a small number of ships so it won’t be that game breaking. I would have liked increasing power grid and cpu requirements for the cyno mod so it couldn’t be fit to rookie ships and t1 frigs but I guess we will see how this works.
The biggest thing that I find strange about the last few big changes is the reactions: They are either great change or worst idea ever. With most of the great change people saying because they hate big alliances. But the big alliances will have the easiest time adapting.

I’m going to have to inform some lazerhawks leadership they recruited a terrible pvp player then b/c they have always seemed to work at relative ease when attacking nullsec targets. How are you this bad and in hawks? This is mind blowing, they must have lowered the bar recently.

You and I both agree and disagree.
“With that said - if you bring in 50 lokis or some ■■■■ why should you be able to fly around my space with no resistance? Especially battleships?”

This is very true, and I concur with your sentiment. The problem here is that the pendulum has swung WAY too far in the opposite direction. Gross over-escalation to any threat no matter how minor.

As for the “Elite pvp” comment. I disagree. I, myself, operate on a 30% rule. If i have a 30% chance of survival, I take the fight. I don’t need a capital to give me that 100% before I go for an engage.

You make a lot of assumptions about me as a PVPer, and you really couldn’t be further from the truth. Sure, I’m not in the top 100, But I was (before my 2 year break) in the top 1k. Thats not terrible.

I think the main problem is that you’re associating my sentiments with what I do. I only fly cruisers and below. Sure, I have supers, dreads, Fax, and the like max’d out. I don’t rely on them because I don’t have to.

I hope that makes sense that you can find it within yourself to actually look at something objectively.

Cheers-

And again: what makes you think that’s going to happen? It’s not at all difficult to just have force recon alts in whatever system you’re ratting in. And really, everyone going ‘oh, the cyno’ll get alpha’d’ - you have to lock it and then get through the 4-500k ehp before the incredibly bored nerds in supers and titans right-click their watchlist.

Seriously, I’m looking forward to how good this is going to be for Delve. Watching people get force recons killed by bubblecamps and BFGs is gonna be hilarious.

They have a big tin bucket in the middle of the main work area at CCP, every week people put “ideas” into the bucket (most come from Reddit).
Then on Friday evening Hilmar slinks out of his office, play room and draws an “idea” from the bucket - He then assigns that idea to a development team who adds it to the game.

Oppressors in what sense? Because someone who did something stupid and got themselves killed by hawks/HK/novac told you they were oppressed? Can tell you that in over 3 years of not being in one of those groups, I never felt ‘oppressed’ by them.

Dude the big freight services will just adjust their rates based on amortizing their cyno losses. It’s not rocket surgery. This is freakin’ spreadsheets in space, The Accounting Must Flow™.
