Chaos Era Continues - Cyno Update

‘Nullbears’ put 6b per rorq on field and then 100b+ of caps to save it and the 6b booshing kiki/bomber fleet expects to kill the rorq with no losses - leet pvp.

RIP CCP employees, you’ve dug your own grave recently. No ore, no moon goo, no ships, no game.

I’ve been roaming nullsec solo for the entirety of my career, which is by far the hardest sort, especially in this meta where getting dropped by caps is common.

I’ve fought unfair situations, been dropped on and blobbed (sometimes both) so many times and got 0 kills, yet I still moved on without complaining once.

Yet one change to cyno mechanics and you can’t handle it? Sounds like you’ve been coddled by the game.

This is a nice change.
Doesn’t mess with cov ops cynos (hunting t3c, bombers etc), gives JFs a nice change and Nullsec home defence still has cyno beacons. I do hope they add a replacement for cyno vigils to still have that be an ingame way to say goodbye to the fallen.

I agree there shouldn’t be I win buttons anywhere in the game.
Except if you look at this change combined with blackout, it hurts small/er groups more than it should while having little to no affect on the blocs.
The Blocs still have their I win buttons firmly intact and if CCP keeps going this direction, the Blocs will be all that is left in Sov Nul.

That is some grade a level salt.

So first and foremost the recons that can light a cyno are the CLOAKIES of course they aren’t on D-scan.

If they aren’t already on grid they fall into our bubbles, that means if they land, they land where I want them to…which isn’t going to be to their advantage.

For all of this salt you haven’t quit yet?

I just want to say you guys are making this game less fun with each and every reach. Sounds like a bunch of high-secs making the rules for the game of play to be more challenging. Stop the blackout, stop the nuking and just settle in to having more people having more fun. The stuff you guys are doing is ruining, not challenging my gameplay. It’s just pixels after all and unless you give me a reason to come here other than to never make ISK, have to be on constant recruiting mode for your bottom line, and not paying attention to the fact I log in more when I can play more, well…it’s why a bunch of your accounts are about to Alpha out and nobody appreciates your experiments. So stop it, done with the 5 npc’s , and just want to get back to kicking ass and making stuff. Help us out, make newer stuff, and stop tweaking us with endless experiments rather than adding more ships with more capabilities, and nuking situations as well as ships. get off your ass, make some more races, some more ships, new planets, you can add fun but it requires effort… And never eff with local again. We got wormholes, if we don’t want local we have a choice to play in that domain. Keep options, stop forcing. Ugh…exhausted.

trolling in forum is not allowed. dont be a dick

You keep saying that’s the null blocs are not affected but you haven’t bothered to counter my points above.

Small people can also rorq mine if they are prepared to lose the rorq once in a while. Hell, we’ve had a guy lose his rorqual to a hotdrop he couldn’t counter since our alliance isn’t big enough to deal with rorqual saves all the time. Moved on like a champ.

Rorquals are also insanely good at boosting, so even with little me mining in a low skilled covetor, I was able to make about 600m isk in 2-3 hours, which can open up the rorqual to boosting roles and mining on the side WITHOUT the industrial core active for a much higher safety margin if aligned to a safe or a citadel, just like the orca and porpoise are right now.

You need to think outside the box my dude, little people get hurt if they don’t adapt, but this definitely nerfs the invincible mining powerhouse that is nullsec’s mining industry

Let’s start by saying I do find it amusing that people are swearing up and down that this will be the end of the big cap fights that the love or brought them to the game. You see, those don’t happen anymore - years of drowning the game in excess wealth and safety have stagnated the game to the point we haven’t seen one of those headline-grabbing big capital brawls in over a year, and the is no prospect or hint of one happening any time soon. Change are needed to try to fix this, and even if this one isn’t a magic bullet that is going to completely fix the game, it also won’t prevent such a capital clash if there was reason to have one. I have no doubt large blocs could manage with Blops and FRs to move their supercapital fleets around with no issue. What really is needed are reasons to have those fights, but that discussion is for another time and place.

Real talk: Eve is stagnant and stagnant is boring, and boring is the last thing you want your video game to be. Yes, many of you have every right to be upset at the increasing radical interverion CCP is taking in order to generate interest and buzz around the property. This is the end result of Larrikan and Fozzie’s unsustainable project to push everyone into capitals and nullsec by stuffing 0.0 with safety and easy wealth, and clearly had no other outcome but eventual boredom and stagnation and this was communicated to them clearly and loudly by many, Yey they still went ahead with the “capital in every garage” strategy knowing full-well that this was not sustainable or good for the game long-term.

Sure, flooding the game with wealth and safety drove some short-term activity as people built up, but the corrosive effect this would have on conflict in game was obvious. I’m sure they thought they could kick that can down the road, and keep things rolling by appeasing/bribing/motivating players by shoving more wealth, making things more safe, and dangling hard-to-get overpowered toys. But the chickens have come home to roost, CCP has painted themselves into a corner - and it is now time to both take the bitter-tasting medicine and rip off the band-aid (I feel like this sentence could have more metaphors, but I am in a rush - TL;DR CCP caused this mess and fixing it is rightly going to annoy players). This Age of Chaos, while working to draw interest and makes things fresh, will also need to come with some bigger changes that will take effort and consideration, but shaking things up like this is a very good start.

As to the specifics: the meta around cyno-corvettes always stuck me as dumb. Probably there are much more elegant solutions around cynos - more play and counterplay, different types and the like - but as a easy first go, why not try this for a bit? Easy cynos in the age of capitals do seem like they have an oppressive effect and are smothering conflict, and honestly, once the tears have dried and the salt drifted away, people will realize it’s not actually that big a change, easily adapted to and maybe one with a more fun steady-state for everyone.

And if not, well CCP can easily revert the change or implement something else.

Complete understatement but words could not be more true.

I am glad you don’t complaint so why are you complainting about others complainting isn’t that called complaint

“Null sec is to safe” this is coming from players that use stealth ships or nano ships that are impossible to catch unless they make about 10 mistakes in a row and even then you have to be in the right place at the right time to kill them. “Supers are OP they killed my shetler nano / bomber gang” after we did not scout the surrounding systems, did not check DSCAN to see the HICs warping onto grid, keept attacking the target after being bubble instead of kitting out of the bubble forgot to check DSCAN again to see the tackle coming in and then when we got tackled they lit a cyno and supers killed us there is no counter not like we could just warp out before their lock time and find a new target must be able to kill every single thing we find. CCP “Your right null sec OP heres another free kill nerf eve reddit”.

Ratter/Minner “checking DSCAN every few seconds nothing in range” Bombers log into system in a deep safe out of scan or scanner prob range. Cloak warp to enomoly decloak and kill before ratter/minner can out DSAN them or really do anything to protect themselves. CCP"Working as intended"

Like really CCP did you ever think about making counters to all ships in this game or just the ones that take 100’s to 1000’s of hours game time and effort to build. I know everyone wants free kills but that’s what used to make eve great was the planning and effort that went into getting a kill instead of trying to impress your 16 year old followers on twitter with instant gratification for zero effort so they can think they are good at the game without ever putting any time in to get good.

Play the Free Record-Breaking Space Sandbox MMO Game EVE Online
This is how you advertise your game without thinking that those fights took years to build up to.

“Our community is at the very core of what we do, and this award is theirs, we provide the sandbox, and they do all of these amazing things in it. Your battles pushed technology to its very limits; your wars blazed a trail across the stars. At the Siege of 9-4, you broke records, and Guinness World Records has acknowledged this. This award is yours; we’re just its stewards,” Svenni Guard.

Thats the quote after Null Sec got you into the record books and this age of cringe is how you treat us.

I wonder if it is just me that thinks about how many pissed off nullsec players that got you the record

“Fans of space-based video game EVE Online have helped set a new record after achieving the Guinness World Records title for the Most concurrent players simultaneously involved in a single multiplayer PvP videogame battle .”

Knowing full well that the numbers of actual players is nothing even close to the offical record once you facter in all of the accounts that we were multiboxing would be willing to pull out there screen shots of the fight and actually dispute the so called “World Record” to get you to actually start fixing your game instead of flushing it down the toilet

Can we have a ceremonial cyno generator, allowed to be fitted on each hull, purely to continue to be able to start a cyno for those we have lost in RL.

You’re not looking at it holistically I think. It’s not just one factor, and the point of the game is to get me coming back and paying my fees to do so. I am becoming more inclined to spend my money IRL than on this game after coming back after a 2 year absence. If I got no reason to be able to fly my capital without 120 support ships, which is a full time job to do that level of protection and I know I’m being absurd but still…look, man, I’m here for a good time and I’m not having one. And with people like the tens of thousands of us who are avid yet casual players of the game, we fuel this ■■■■. We come on here to have fun. If I’m not having fun, I’ll bail on this bitch just like I did last time. CCP needs to respect the people who spend ANY free time on this platform to ensure they have fun. Done and done.

Except not every industrialist wants the extra hassle of building tech 2 ships–it takes a lot more time, isk, money, and skill points to do this.

So basically, you’re ■■■■■■■ 99% of industrialists, and saying, “golly gee, it’s great for the people who have the resources to engage in tech 2 ship production!”
