And cloacky thing who could jump 200 hundred friend are totally not opressive. They are totally not invulnerable when cloak unless make a big mistake.
CCP need to change cyno, but they need adress a lot of other change in same time or it will be terribly unbalanced. And people will just stop, a lot of people want play not spend time to give RL money to CCP each change for capextractor/injector.
Seems like another screw over on chars who have continued to support the game for many years with time & money & by building up corps/ alliances etc, low/null sec take another hit , this seems like another not thought through idea surely there must have been better ideas than this.
Not really. You can just bring a JF in off-grid and web it into warp if you’re that worried about your cyno ship and, hell, you can JF into cynojammed systems, now.
I love all this talk about safety and wealth in null sec yet seeing no new groups moving to null sec for this so called free isk or safety. Is the reason its not as safe as reddit tweens make out?
What do you mean, there’s been a massive migration of the player-base to null over the last three years - just look at the stats here:
Activity elsewhere is way down, and nullsec way up. Sure, mostly that is players joining existing groups and that stagnation should be considered a failure of game design by CCP no doubt, but definitely the player-base have moved to nullsec, attracted by the easy ISK and high safety the rule set provided.
I have sympathy for CCP as balancing such a game is a juggling act, especially across groups of all sizes, but local, and to a lesser extent ubiquitous cynos, made nullsec very safe from anything short of a full-scale invasion, and even then asset-safety has your back.
I really can’t see how anyone can argue with a straight face that nullsec living with perfect intel and a pocket supercap fleet a click away was especially dangerous. Sure, not everyone had that much safety, but until this summer, nullsec in general had degenerated to petting-zoo levels of safety and farmability, not the Wild West it was suppose to be.
Sadly many of those Reddit tweens haven’t actually played Eve for years.
Their only connection to the game now is Reddit
And it seems CCP’s whole undivided attention on game balance
Dumbest idea i have seen from a game dev yet. This will cause less and less capital escalations and less fights overall. Honestly thinking about unsubbing now.

Where do I submit my refund request for skill points on the countless cyno chars I have. On the bright side wont re-sub those accounts and save some money
I know this change is supposed to be painful but I actually like it. I do have a couple of ideas that might make it better for people who didn’t skill their cyno alts into covert cyno characters.
One of the complaints is a maller cynoing in a cap drop at a gate.
Another is caps cynoing in the umbrella.
I think there’s a way with fixing this without making most cyno alts useless and requiring a 200Mil ship to use a T-1 module.
I suggest that Cynos be unable to fit in caps (I know it’s part of your plan), solving the second issue.
However, I would suggest that rather than be banned from T1 subcap hulls., they be given a spool up time of anywhere from a minute to 90 seconds. Kill the cyno while he spools and your drop is jacked. Then give recons a hull bonus of 100% for the spoolup time, making their cynos instant and a bonus to module rate of fire to let them get out in a reasonable time…
Fans of space-based video game EVE Online have helped set a new record after achieving the Guinness World Records title for the Most concurrent players simultaneously involved in a single multiplayer PvP videogame battle .
A total of 6,142 players took part in an enormous battle - the Siege of 9-4 - in January 2018 with the certificate being presented to the game’s creators at EVE’s Fanfestevent in Iceland on Saturday (14 April).
The Real Numbers would be more like 4k “Players” not accounts. The numbers are nearly as acurate as Hilmars player numbers in his talking in station interview like we cant just look at EVE OFFLINE to see the real numbers of players online Declining
@CCP_Falcon a little restrictive but totally reasonable, although why not just base what can jump through cynos, by mass of the ship activating the Cyno (with the exception of Jump frieghters) so anything sub cap cant call in caps and titan jump bridging should be the go to way for cap jumping
Example:
frigs and dessie’s can only jump in things of cruiser mass
cruisers and BC can jump in things up to BS mass
then Titan bridging for other caps.
something like that.
personally i dont use cyno’s and have only been ganked by cyno alts but would be interesting to make it mass related like wormholes because i would think that cyno’s would need some amount of power to jump things in and based on the ship the more power the bigger things can be jumped in
