If they were able to warp faster, then gating might not be such a pain. Gating 20 jumps to attack a structure today would probably make half of us commit boredom suicide.

Also, you should have said ANY ships, not Capital ships. If jump drives are the problem, they should all go away because that mobility advantage applies even more to guys who cloak.

I’ve had a similar idea, but I’d say it should be no less than five minutes. I arbitrarily chose that long, but seriously, also make it so that it’s faster to gate and warp several gates, even in a cap, than to light a cyno and go.

Maybe also give it a short (5-60s) cooldown after it completes so it necessarily can’t automatically recycle no matter what.

CCP update the rorqual a lot of people say it’s completly unbalanced versus exhumer.

Result : super proliferation

CCP add citadel but we can’t remove rigs

Result : The game is statics because the price of the structure is the rigs. Nobody would like to unanchor the structure to attack one other region because the cost is too important.
Also we can put more than one citadel per system ( welcome to the bunker game).

CCP have problem with botting, and remove the local in nullsec.

Result : botter go to highsec make mission or mining …

CCP would like to try to balance nullsec with cyno modification.

Result : only bomber fleet are coming ( it’s time for ccp to explain why we have a lot of ship than we can’t use for make pvp …)

Perhaps it’s the time than CCP play again to this game to understand how to play at EVE. Because right now it’s a little pathetic.

Well if this won’t force pilots into the bigger null sec alliances…

My tinfoil hat is also chanting that this is an anti-Imperium move since they complained about your drifter tactic that forced the stoppage of the last northern war. Well, I say war even though NC/PL basically almost gave up without a fight and gave us a reverse World War Bee play and with no casinos involved. Did CCP have a sad face that no second coming of the B-R5RB play out to give your game more coverage or was it the Koreans?

Seriously, do you have a ā€œWhat would an autistic Goonswarm pilot do?ā€ option in your decision making process? You might need one if you don’t.

This cyno decision, up front, basically kills the last reason why I want to fly capital ships anymore. And that will take out the reason for my fax-alt account so buh-bye to another omega status account. But I will hold off that decision until I see how metagame unfolds.

Just couple of more balancing acts and this actually might get interesting.
a) The only 2 things T3Cs need after this to bring some balance are:
1) One cannot fit Covert Reconfiguration and Interdiction Nullifier at the same time
2) just like Astero and Stratios can fit covert cloak but not light covert cyno, the Covert Reconfiguration should not allow this either.
b1-lets-keep-the-radical-going) MJD/MJFG usage should count as jump in all cases for fatigue (the minimum accounted jump distance is 1LY so this would nicely balance the BS of stuka fleets being just OPAF).
b2-more-soft-change) MJD/MJFG reactivation time get changed to similar timer as Jump Prevention timer so that everyone that has been part of micro jump cannot do it again before the cooldown has finished. Just preventing chaining the MJFGs with any form of Micro Jumps.

You could always use gates

I think that a better change to Cyno’s would be the removal of the ā€œFleet Restrictionā€ of them; you light one, you risk jumping more players that may want to use it against your reasoning for it.

Covert Cyno’s wouldn’t be changed with my suggestion.

I also agree with the JF part, that should be an addition to the game.

I don’t like the idea of people being unassailable while in space and away. It’s eve onlines version of low risk ganking. The fact that they can do that and spring into action at any time they so choose is a massively unbalanced advantage that has nothing to do with tactical descisions, skill, prepwork, or any kind of gameplay whatsoever.

There has to be mechanics for defensive gameplay beyond capital escalations the way it is now. By just restricting Cynos and basically giving people no real alternative in the home defense side of things all you will succeed in doing is killing alot of content for most players.

Believe it or not but industrial players are essential to the eve economy, and cotent generation. As a PVP pilot I’ve known that for well over a decade and a half.
