Chaos Era Continues - Cyno Update

CCP was brave enough to remove local, but not brave enough on this one.
Removed local? - Remove cynos.
You should not be able to move huge fleets and huge cargo ammounts to large distances. Period.
You’re gonna whine that it will kill logistics -“how I’m gonna get my stuff to/from Jita?”. You won’t, Jita will cease to exist. Fringe markets will flourish though.
Wanna move stuff? - use gates (and player built gates).
Overall makes life harder for huge alliances and easier for compact ones.
And what you propose now is literally the opposite - Goons won’t be affected at all, small alliances will struggle to adapt.

Also as a solo capital pilot (yeah yeah laugh all you want) I was ninja farming WHs from lowsec - exotic activities like this will be impossible, but that’s ok, I didn’t even like it. You’ll say I have to be part of an alliance to own capitals - I am a casual player and log in from time to time, so I can’t join corp/alliance because I might go offline for a month or two and they prob kick me. So really short sighted proposition you have.

Come on now, don’t despair, everything will be all right. You’ll get used to it.

This is just ■■■■■■■ retarded, give us a t1 cruiser with a cyno atleast

We still have it. This doesn’t hurt it in any functional way.

They’ve stopped.

Notice the uptick at the end? That started on the 10th.

Assumes they were talked to about it. I’m betting they weren’t.

It ain’t the wealth and safety, it’s the inevitable snowball that’s led to ‘if you want to hold space in null, you need these things you can only get if you already hold space in null’. Bootstrapping up has gotten harder and harder, and that, coupled with the utter aids of entosis warfare, is choking the wars out and keeping people from losing crap in droves. In order to seriously fight a sov war, you need to endanger your ability not to win this one, but to even wage the next one.

Just nuke supers, and the math changes completely. Small groups no longer need toys they can’t afford to lose. They no longer lose high-SP characters to space-coffins while the big blocs can put down keepstars and move their highest-sp characters into any ship the situation calls for.

It ain’t the wealth, and it ain’t the safety, that caused this. It’s the loss of the ability to get back in the arms race if you lose a war.

It can happen with just two ships and is a pain in the backend. the bounce is a bad game

Love this new chaos season. Keep it up. CCP is adding needed value to the hashtag #alreadyreplaced. These new force recon cyno ships will be killed so frequently and they will be somewhat expensive throw away toys for most.

No they won’t - at current prices a single SP character on an account generates 1.5bn isk/month, whilst PLEX costs for the month are 1.75 bn - 250m isk/month between 2 other characters on an Omega account is child’s play - a very lazy null sec PP character will generate 500m/month

Glad I biomassed . oh wait

Why are so many people who support that change also pathetic beggars? You seem jealous of what others have and also unable to come this far by yourself.

This change seems ill thought out in a few ways.

First and foremost, because of your choice of ships to restrict regular cynos to, nothing will really change in terms of capital escalations. Instead of a regular combat ship lighting a regular cyno to call in capital reinforcement, a covert ship will light a covert cyno to call in either a recon or a black ops, and they’ll light the regular cyno instead. All that will have changed is that there’s one more step involved in a capital escalation. If you really want to restrict capital movement, you have to restrict cynos to ships that don’t have jump or bridging capabilities of their own.

Secondly, the limited number of hulls that can fit cynos seems, well, limited. I’m all on board with the notion of getting rid of disposable T1 frigate, or even rookie ship, cynos. But you’ve chosen 10 hulls (not counting AT ships) that are balanced around one specific task, and given them a wholly unrelated and critically important task to fulfill on top of that. That seems like poor planning.

And lastly, let’s talk about PANIC. The whole concept behind PANIC is that it gives a rorqual pilot time where they and their miners (heh, I made a funny!) are safe while they call in reinforcements…except now they can no longer call in reinforcements. This change to cynos seems like it just reduces PANIC to a way to delay the inevitable, which is kind of pointless.

Let’s have a discussion about restricting cyno usage instead of just making some haphazard change. There are probably much more effective ways to do this that don’t come with the slew of unintended consequence.

Actually I think it should happen next week. It’s not “chaos” if there’s plenty of time to adjust to it before it happens.

No no, everyone has to run around with their hands in the air screaming ‘CHAOS!!!’ or it doesn’t count.

gotta give time for haulers to prepare for changes.

Stop thinking this is anything other than a £CASH$ grab by CCP - it’s become fairly standard practice in online (and mobile) games to milk Whales continuously - and that’s what this is.

A typical cyno alt as now is usually trained to use interceptors, changing to Force Recons will require a 2-3 months training or 7-12 injectors - plus ship costs (initial and ongoing)

The large alliances will be largely unaffected as they can easily swing resources where needed and have most of the Whales - if the Whales were going to leave the game, they would have left after the Rorqual changes (they didn’t and they wont after this - that is the nature of Whales).

Nah…leave them all on and let CCP pay the electric bill.

It’s all olmecca’s fault…lol

I for one have started fireselling everything to fund my future fun roaming as a cloaky nomad explorer…my 2nd account will be unsubbed and when the isk eventually runs out my main will be unsubbed too.
Its been a fun first year and a half but I just don’t make enough isk to be paying for force recons everytime it gets blapped for lighting a cyno. Not a problem to those with trillions.

CCP slaying on each patch it seems. cant wait to see whats coming for the autumn/winter updates ayyyyyy…

people have become so dependant on capital ships that they’d rather unsub rather than undersize to subcaps and adapt to a new lifestyle? welp, there’s plenty of space games where you can farm for building a capital pwnmobile and be the big fish on a small pond. EVE is not one of those, see ya o/

Did I say it should be risk free? No.

Remove all cloacky thing and give a way for subcap to survive to blop of other subcap, and maybe you will see people use subcap to farm.
But actually if you farm in subcap you will die with no hope to survive against a blob of bomber. You will have no time to do anything, just die. In fact it’s to avoid to just die against blob of a lot of bomber people go to cap and super.

And for big bloc they will just have alt ready to cyno…

No it’s all for have more sub in alt to have more money. True question is : Did the number of player who unsub cover the number of new alt sub for making cyno? Didi people spend enought in injector to cover the long term loss of CCP?

This is exactly what it is. When nobody can make a dime in null and everyone is poor as hell remember → don’t pay for plex, just unsubscribe for a few months and let CCP feel the burn. Maybe they will put the crack pipe
down and actually do something that makes the game better not worse.
