Not like you pay for access to sisi. Oh wait you dont
Could you give us at least a cursory explanation of why? This is rather unprecedented so it would be nice to know why we canāt test things safely or train our newbros for at least another 2 months.
Back in the day before F2P was a thing, yes you did basically pay to get on Sis, since you had to pay to even play the game to begin with.
However, that doesnāt negate the fact that itās highly unusual for the Test Server to be ādownā for such an extended amount of time.
Me being unable to pay for Omega just means I have the patience to wait for Sisi to be back online by playing something else. But it surely wouldnāt hurt for a bit of a reason behind why itās being limited access for so long
eve has always been F2P unless you are poor on tq
Thank you for the update
** SPECULATION TIME ***
Given we are only a couple of months out from Fanfest and the much anticipated super-duper anniversary - one might expect that there has been a lot of focus on getting some ridiculously good content to be released simultaneously with the events of September (as has been done in previous years with the content about the Deathless and earlier events)
IF that were the case ā¦ then even an āold foolā like me would be testing every second of the day in the run up to the event - just to try to make sure that everything was purrrrr-fect (including possible cat-ears) for the big splashy launch during fanfest. Nothing spoils a launch event faster than buggy code or content right ?
IF that were the case ā¦ then to keep the secrets from leaking ahead of time, disabling access to SISI makes perfect sense.
OF course ā¦ just pure speculation on my part !!
Iād like to chime in by saying I miss Singularity, too.
Iām currently considering to go Omega again after a lengthy time of absence.
Lots of changes have been made to the game since I left.
Singularity could help me figure out āWhat could my ships still do if I were Omega?ā.
Sure, I could try to do the math on a piece of paper, but thereās a good chance Iāll miss some new game mechanics in the process.
Long story short: CCP you are losing money by locking off Singularity.
Iām not paying for Omega without knowing what Iāll gain.
Long story short: You will have to wait until september if you dont want to do the math. No amount of complaining will bring the SiSi servers back up early.
āeve has always been F2P unless you-ā are a no life sweat with 6 accounts, lol.
Seen plenty of those.
Especially since the price of Plex has doubled since the last time I truly played (Used to be 700m. Which was possible using a single account mining in a Corp with a Mining Barge or better, and still having a life outside of EVE).
Half way through August now, so hopefully itāll be coming back online next month.
Sara 7ās response makes sense to me
Update: there is a Pinned form that you donāt see searching from google: sisi is now private for CCP use / invite only. RIP.
Recent eve returneeā¦ Iāve personally lost somewhere around 10 billion isk in ship and pod losses trying out abyss because I couldnāt access sisi to test my builds. I attempted several times to log in to sisi and figure things out. Finally, I find myself here. Very very very frustrating. Iām now very broke and canāt play the way I want to. Sure, I could have just not played the game and wouldnāt have lost anythingā¦ but then you see the problem. Not sure what changed, but a decade ago sisi used to be updated over downtime every two weeks without issue. Iām pretty sure it isnāt the data copy issue more than they are just using it for internal testing only. I get it, but since CCP embraces making its players lives suck with perma ship losses etc. there should be a way to try things out without risking what you have either saved up or spent $ for. Itās one thing if I get unlucky or lose something in PVP. Iām still pissed but at least I canāt blame CCP. If CCP wants to test new things, I think they should use a separate internal server instead of the public test server as sisi was a valuable tool and method of playing for those who needed it. Lock it behind Omega if you must, but Sisi needs to be available like it used to be. A public test realm and not a private-sometimes-shared test realm.
P.S. I would really like that 10 billion isk back.
I feel for u oldman, itās complete BS what theyāve done to sisiā¦ Iām not re-upping my sub when it runs out cause of this total shitshow. test server was a great resource for new and returning players to test ideas out w/o going brokeā¦ now more newbs will rage quit cause they can only try things out on live. at least sisi gave them an option to dip their toes in w/o getting them lopped off.
I agree with the last couple of posts. I just got a new player started and I have recently returned to active status and with some of the changes that have happened it would be nice to run some tests as well as show the newbie a few things without breaking the bank. What is the deal CCP? Looks like testing has been down for a few months from the posts I see.
Wow thatās kind of really cringe, actually.
Itās all about the money simple,
If you think that EVE is a unfriendly game, maybe things like this are to blame
When will the test server be up? I have several things Iād like to test.
Next time they need to test something, theyll bring it back online. You may not have enough time to test whatever it is.
Well its an interesting idea. Thinking that players would spend more isk / money to replace ships and fittings lost on TQ if they did not have a resource like Singularity. Unfortunately the idiots who think this way, have this fairy tail idea that the monies devoted to EVE are endless. The reality is all the isk spent on replacing items takes away money for subscriptions. So when the money goes dry, EVE must die.
It is after all just a game.
Many of us have spent quite a lot over the last decade or two. Seems CCP has never learned not to piss off the players.
I am still not able to login to singularity since May 2023
