You can already do this easily, transfer by Contract or by In-Station Trade.
I would disagree, it is in fact a necessary hassle so it’s less likely to be abused. If you really want to avoid the “minor” hassle of creating contracts you have the option to create your own Corporation and utilize its Corp Hangars to store and share between your accounts (like many people do already).
Something like this is not a QoL. It’ll take a lot of work to put into action and a similar thing has already been suggested - I believe it was something along the lines of Personal Hangar with ACL.
Just to mention a few that have suggested similar things over the years.
id rather they not touch anything and risk breaking the entire inventory code.. right now the way i understand it, personal hangars are tied to specific character ID’s sharing them would mess things up. plus i was reading somewhere and even by past CSM’s that a shared ACL for personal hangars would basically make corporations useless.
why would shared hangars make corps useless? you join the corp for the community not for the hangars.
I understand that most of it is handled through the POS code, but the changes themselves shouldn’t be too complicated. For example, they could add one hangar per character and simply set which people are allowed to access it.
Because corps were necessary for ppl to share hangars, and then you would have the server constantly reading the inventory (diablo 3 had that problem with major lag)
