[Discussion] PLEX and Omega price changes feedback thread

Probably in between the Starbucks coffee and Avocado Toast.

Undeniable. And if they sold us decent t-shirts we would be paying to advertise the game.

The used to sell decent t-shirts! I have a old Hurricane shirt somewhere.

Overall Quality of merch was always a bit less than what people wanted.
Probably why they stopped selling stuff?

There are literally dozens of ways to monetize eve. Sell merch, 3d ship models, Skins, Structure skins, New structure models possibly. Instead you take a game that’s already hard to get into and practically requires alts, hike the price 33% on the promise of new content? We have seen how the content rollouts go. This is just absolutely mental.

This time it’s differentℱ :smirk:

Oh absolutely, I’m sure we will get 33% more content each month, reliably without any major flaws or defects. Sure 100% I believe that

TV adverts cost a lot of real money which they are trying to tell us they don’t have. Ever heard of the EvE Partnership Program? YT and Twitch Creators literally making all the ad copy EvE could ever need for free. Also for Free is their FB, Twitter and Instagram presence spewing out adverts up and down anyone’s feed that does any form gaming.

With literally millions in free or extremely low cost advertising, it begs the question how is inflation suddenly a thing in 2022 when it never was before?

This is also why CCP don’t like desktop apps and crippled us with OAuth2 redirects and a devkey so websites and web apps get preference for hosting ad banners. Also consider these channels of advertising are preaching to the choir, not new customers, existing customers.

Power of two was basically a “buy an alt” promotion, not invite a new customer.

If you want new customers, buy a screen advert on the Super Bowl or Times Square.

All they have to do is a short ad they have the people in house

For Example World Of Tanks Ad

Yup, Belarusian humour win.

That was a Kewl ad

Now I think I might make a short ad myself

hmmm

I think you have the issue pretty well surrounded. CCP Schill aka White Knight is actually working against their own self interest with every response claiming people are cry babies or whiners. With every sarcastic economic response and belittling put down they push people away who are currently supporting the game they stand in staunch defense of.

To those whose creed is ‘Stay and Pay or Grieve and Leave’ keep an eye on EvE offline. Watch as both participation and server loading decrease between now and Fan Fest. The short term good news for those still playing, improving game performance.

It is my hope that we see some very well kept secret massive New Eden shattering game changing update at Fan Fest that changes what we know now causing a significant increase in the player base.

Goodnight all,

What a shocking story!

Hello ! Lusty! There’s a video topic for you over here Amigo!

I agree with many players on this thread. Some take a posture in their repetitive responses that literally borders on arrogance, even harassment. These are obviously CCP lobbies, perhaps even CSMs, a kind of category of players blindly breaking the rules of CCP in exchange probably for a few favors (in our area we call that collaboration), which have no of course, strictly nothing to do with the commercial laws currently in force in many countries, or even in our country, with European directives

However, CCP continues to impose its rules of the game without ever wondering about the future consequences of its choices, like an autocracy that now forgets that behind a persistent world like New Eden, there is above all and above all a community of players who suffer a little more every day from his too often contradictory decisions

In reality, CCP is simply cheating hoping to guarantee the profitability of its game, which of course works for a while, but never forever

New Eden is therefore now the victim of a short-term accounting logic which unfortunately has absolutely nothing to do with the truth of persistent worlds

But it is above all the silence of Sir Hilmar Veigar Petursson which in this precise case becomes literally deafening! Because it is rather up to him to come and explain these incredible choices which are literally on the verge of threatening the very integrity of New Eden as a whole; in other words, this crisis against a backdrop of inflation of around +33% deserves clear, intelligible and transparent explanations, especially after the PLEX for GOOD campaign; to believe that it is we who must finally finance the 50% share of CCP

At this stage, nothing is clear. First there was the episode of the absurd fear of NFTs, probably out of ignorance. There is now the episode of this no less absurd inflation of around +33%

For information dear Hilmar, in France, despite the efforts of our government, we are all already having a hard time keeping up with inflation of around +3.6% over one year

Our time does not belong to CCP! Not taking this key parameter into account in April 2022 with regard to the current global systemic crisis is, in turn, definitively condemning any prospect of future development of EvE Online, knowing that you have to be at the top level to fully understand this. ; I know something

But are they really on this point at CCP? I strongly doubt it in view of the legitimate reactions that have been piling up under this comment thread for the past 5 days, and which obviously do not bode well

BACK BACK! THERE IS NO SHAME IN SOMETIMES HAVING TO ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR OWN DECISION MISTAKES

Conversely, if CCP prefers to have 10,000 players with 10 accounts, rather than 100,000 with just one, hey! well my faith, it is certain that they could not do it better otherwise
 Close the ban!

Personally, I’m already looking at Star Citizen

So. Try To Fly Safe For Eternity. Or Not.

Yeah. Low bid manufacturing.

i personally have been changing over to SCUM. i like my survival games so

The problem I see is vets want it to be a closed sub kind of game, that’s not coming back. Elitism in games doesn’t work and stunts growth.

People wanted WiS from Incarna. F2P brought back many that would have been sub walled and not bothered. Wormholes and exploration brought fun new spaces, great. Do more of that kind of thing.

A major problem I also see is entrenchment of big blocks of power, perception of CSM just adds salt to that wound and leaves a bitter taste.

The game needs new things, every other MMO adds new map regions to their worlds to expand, like wormholes and trig spaces did to Eve. That is what helps keep people interested imo. Seeing the same old thing day in and day out, gets boring fast. It’s not like Eve has lush vivid landscapes. The best we get is a blue eye gouging sun or garish tapestry of a background nebula that one can make out the shape of the god of goatse or something if you squint your eyes.

And fix the API to be modernised (streaming, flexible querying) and easier to access for desktop apps with a better authentication model (we need an alternative to the redirects and devkey, that may be fine for websites but is really a terrible developer ergonomics on other devices or use cases).

Im a vet from 2006 jan 1st and i dont want a sub game. I dont want elitism or entrenchments. All these things are reactionary from horrible game design and goonswarm who want to ruin everyone else who plays the game. Gankers in highsec with 30 accounts killing Jf’s in 10 sec to be robbed. Shouldnt exist.

The devs do not even play EvE so what can any of us even expect. WE want more content and interactions and fun, same as you. Titan or frig, we want to sit online with our friends and have fun. CCP fails to do this with telling us how to play their ‘‘sandbox’’ game. This is why PA’s stock price plumited 25%

Since CCP is so into spinoffs, I would make something like World of Spaceships.

  • No mmo auto aiming or auto firing, make it all actively player controlled.

  • The Empires and factions are at war.

  • They fight in border systems which change hands according to battles won and presence of defenders.

  • Players who only play the World of Spaceships spinoff only get to play the navy ships of their Empire. And of course they could pay to get higher tier ships and modules.

  • Eve players can play any ship they have in their hangars and they get the skills bonuses they earned in Eve, and they can play faction ships. And they would earn mercenary bounties of isk for use in Eve online.

  • There would be a fully integrated FPS/3rd person shooter spinoff that would allow players to invade and capture stations and planetside facilities. Spaceships would provide fire support. Defenders would operate ground based defenses and fight invading troops. It would be persistent, with a planet having 50 to 100 cities or installations that would need to be captured over winning many battles (a city would have many areas to be captured). Each player could even command a squad of infantry bots. Why not give a player command of entire units of bots with their own AI, which the player could direct as squads to defend against invading players (now that would make planetary interaction interesting) Capturing planets, moons, and stations would require many battles over a long time, like weeks. Capturing one would change it’s ownership in Eve online.

  • Eve online corps and alliances could field their own navies to play in World of Spaceships from the ships they have in their Eve online hangars, defending their bases and planets and attacking their enemies, while wearing their custom corp/alliance skins.

  • If no one’s online, Empire Navy bots or pirate faction bots could be the opposing forces, like in World of Warships.

  • And the FPS/3rd person shooter tech could be used as a testbed for Walking in Stations finally.

This would bring is zillions of players just for the spaceship battles and FPS battles and enrich CCP beyond imagination, like War Thunder and World of Warships/Warplanes/Tanks.

It would be integrated with Eve online so Eve characters could fight regular Eve online battles, or in World of Spaceships battles with their Eve ships, or in FPS/3rd person battles defending their planetary interaction facilities, and be part of an ongoing war narrative which the players influence. If CCP feels that things need to be rebalanced, then they commit fleets of Empire Navy bot ships to problem areas as part of a major offensive.

Anyway, just an idea.

It would give people something to DO besides sit on gatecamps, crab, mine rats, click through anoms, sit around waiting for fleets (guild raids, really), and all this other obsolete decades old mmo stuff.

Dude, these people wont even add to mining. You want these fools to make a whole mmo? They didnt even make this one. All the devs who MADE eve LEFT.

CCP devs should be allowed to play as regular players and only be in a corp with each other, if necessary to prevent unethical behavior. then they can start from the beginning and experience the new player experience, the grinding, the going out to lowsec and nullsec, FW, industry, and everything else. They’d have a much better perspective then. But hey,I used to work as a game tester for a little while, and man i can tell you that when I got home from work, the last thing I wanted to do was play games. Even after I got another job, I didn’t play games for 3 months.
