wtf???
Also, you are DAMN RIGHT! About the bias.
I am so horribly, horribly confused.
I mean⌠thatâs pretty much Eve in a nutshell, but stillâŚ
Do you know whats wierd?
BAttlefield 2042 has no scoreboard, leaderboard or chat between teams.
Its like they dont want too much competition in their PvPâŚ
ON TOPIC (ish): It used to be the case that no post was deleted except extreme edge cases for historic posterity. I guess thatâs not important either.
I am honestly surprised the threads on the mining changes havenât been locked down. Theyâre staying primarily on-topic, but a lot of them are essentially âIâm leaving because Iâm pissed off, and now youâre ALL going to hear about it!â
I think its perfectly fair for people who cannot read the blog to show us how many Orcas are going to be sold for under prodcution cost on the market in a fit of rage.
Er I mean, yes I also am surprised.
Say hello to your ânu gamingâ overlords.
Nintendo, is that you?
Letâs say you have a favorite steakhouse, you go to it every friday night.
And after 10 years of going there, enjoying the environment, the company, the food⌠the owner of the place sells.
And the new owners are vegans. and they remove steak from the menu. And they redecorate the place. And they start playing different music.
How many more years of trying, are we expected to do? They do not listen. They simply do not listen.
Look at the skill window. Its still â â â â â â . They do not listen.
They do not listen.
They do not listen.
They do not listen.
Maybe itâs the choice of analogy, and maybe Iâm old, but I remember a time when that kind of thing happened, you just stopped going. Usually, pretty quietly in fact. You likely lamented it to a few friends, but eventually you moved onto plan B. Or you gave it a try to see if you liked it.
You didnât do the real-life forum equivalent of standing in front of the entrance screaming your disappointment to every new person who walked into the door. Or, even worse, hang out in the restaurant and repeatedly tell the patrons there how -pick an adjective- they are for continuing to enjoy the experience.
Itâs the analogy.
Iâd say the restaurant just changes admin and they switch ketchup brand or meat provider, while the menu looks more appealing and the prices skyrocketâŚ
Better?
In the end, a worm in a meat joint platter is not as cute as in a salad bowl at the veggie place, right? You wouldnât complain with the same decibels, wouldya?
See? poor choice of analogy.
They donât stand in front of the entrance or hang out inside because now a days people use social media, like google, yelp, youtube, twitter, Facebook, etc.
These forums are no exception, theyâre just another facet of social mediaâŚ
Preach. Heâs been crying about the skill window like it murdered his mom LOL.
Shouldnât you be endorsing more trolls
Is extremely common, for both males and females, when one is leaving what they have come to consider to be a bad relationship to read the other party the riot act before walking out and slamming the door behind them.
Especially if they feel that, rather than just having grown apart, the other party has destroyed the relationship. Happens worldwide, all the time, every day, regardless of culture.
How can you have failed to understand that? Or, perhaps you realize Iâm right now because itâs the same damn thing.
The end of a relationship blended with a sense of betrayal.
Few arenât angry about Eve anymore. High-sec and industrial playstyles have been changed too much. A number of players donât even think itâs fun anymore. Spending over a year training to fly a Rorq and building an industrial core from the ground up isnât some cheap goal. People put TONS of effort into it only to have some of the worst changes Iâve ever seen shoved down their throats with little to no warning. Rorqs are basically floating targets now with a fraction of the value they used to provide for the risk of putting them on the field.
Unless youâre a high sec ganking targeting cheaply fit barges and/or alpha miners, CCP generally has no interest in protecting your playstyle at this juncture. The devs are far too erratic and unpredictable. The game feels anything but stable, and after a while people just lose interest and stop caring. I know multiple dudes that still havenât came back since CCP swiss cheesed high sec and now even more are quitting. Heck, even I might unsub too b/c Iâm not sure who Iâll know to even play with at this point. And no, âyouâ canât have my billions.
OkâŚno liquid isk then, got itâŚcan I have just your stuff?
Rather than unsubbing, make new friends.
Your viewpoint is rooted in (albeit understandable) bias. The gankers you say are âprotected,â their play styles have been nerfed into the ground or outright removed as far as ten years ago. These were the low-sec pirates, the high-sec war fighters, and the mercenaries that operated in all areas of space until CCP obliterated their play styles with gameplay changes like the addition of new travel mechanisms such as wormholes and filaments, the effective removal of wars from the game, and the hyper-proliferation of super-capital ships and favoritism of grind-centric null-sec coalitions, respectively.
Ganking is literally the only form of piracy left in the game, and the only reason why CCP canât nerf that into the ground as well at the request of the crying masses is because itâs the sole remaining inflationary check in the game. The entire reason why CCP is nerfing mining and industry now is because itâs totally out of control and not being balanced out by the requisite amount of PvP to keep the economy healthy. Just go and look at the first chart of the monthly economic reports over the past few years.
Killing or ransoming mission runners is still a thing although with the piracy code being forgotten more and more customers wonât trust a ransom deal. Ransom wardecs still happen, ransoming in WH space happens in a small time âpay or get evictedâ kind of way.
But yeah, most options for high sec encounters have been removed or, very conveniently, changed their mechanics as a âside effectâ of other changes. That has been going on since the days of CCP Greyscale.
Most folks adapted by forming Voltron with massive wardec groups, others went/were pushed in to ganking. Personally I donât do either and still do the options that do exist.
Preach. My playstyle is gone. Iâd much rather be in low but its just untenable. I mean you can live there, but it isnât exactly a target rich environment anymore except for a few systems.
I love ransoming. Back in the day, I ransomed far more than I killed. If you donât pop their ship, theyâll come back
I always tell them to dock up and wait out their timer and if they wouldnât then it would be on them. Surprisingly often theyâd come back for seconds.
This is because people these days believe they must enact anything they see on TV instead of behaving like civilised persons.
