Guardian Gala sites

The easiest ship in the game to do these is a passive tanked gila. You can “literally” warp in, launch your drones on agressive settings, and go make a snack just to to return to a completed site…

when I contest other people, and get finishing kill I get the loot, just stole a bs kill from a rattle pilot and I know he did more damage to me, considering it was in half hull when my 2 valks attacked, so half hull must be more hp than half hull + armor+ shields right?!?!?!

I’m running it with a 10/10 Rattle fit. no chances will be taken with these pointers.

Hull having no resistances, and shield and armor having those, it may be so that most of hull is more than a sliver of hull and armor and shield. How long it takes to bring it down to hull is not really comparable to amount of HP target have. Resistances may be really high. But anyway. There may be some bug sometimes. I wonder how its calculated in fact. I am waiting for videos.

@Agondray @Abyss_Azizora I may relief you of the burden to prove your claim. Here is what CCP has to say about it

When an NPC is killed by a player, the player who did the most damage to it gets ownership of any loot containers that may drop and of the wreck left behind by that NPC.

We all know how the NPCs are behaving in this event, so there may be indeed some differences between what is claimed by CCP and what is actually a thing in game. Bugs are real. But I am yet to see the proof of the “stealing hit”. May be as elusive as a “Touch of Death” or “Vibrating Palm” techniques.

Also this is important:

When taking is not stealing

If the player does not own a container or wreck, they may still have an implicit right to take from it. However, this is only if the owner of the container:

Has given the player a personal standing of 10.
Is in the same player corporation as them.
Is in the same fleet as the player (and is located in the same solar system as the player).
Has set their wrecks as “available to all”. This allows anyone to take from their wrecks and cans without any consequences. Wrecks marked this way appear blue on the overview, rather than the usual yellow or white.
Is a legal target to the looting character, like the owner of the container being flagged as a suspect, or being in a limited engagement with the looting character.

It’s top damage.
However it seems to count the full damage from the final shot regardless of if it was all needed or not.
When ships with low ehp are involved this can mean a final alpha stroke is more than the total health ship so they win it.
Event ships with larger ehp this becomes much clearer it is top damage on because a single volley doesn’t win the entire thing.

So essentially damage is counted as shot, not applied? That is rather counterintuitive. Top “damage”.

Just like to add since all I’ve seen is people complaining they can’t run them.

I started an alpha and a day or two training I’m in a gnosis running them solo, so it’s easily achievable.

Video proof available?

than its broken. because I know im not doing top damage when I steal it with rlml autotargeting missiles

Just look on YouTube, plenty of people running them on alphas. They even include the fits.

Here is one after a two second search.

For those who run these sites in low sec, how’s your experience?

I noticed that sites respawn much faster in low sec, maybe only after 10-12 minutes. That means you can run two sites in one system (5-6 minutes each), hop to a neighbouring system to run two more sites, and then return again. This minimises gate hopping.

Battleships seem to spawn more often than battlecruisers.

So far I ran 24 sites, and got 12 standard drops (50%), 3 advanced drops (12.5%), and 1 ‘dripfeed’ drop (4%), and nothing in 33% of sites. I’m still collecting stats for high sec sites, but so far they seem similar.

This is my experience as well, I’ve had another player take a npc down to 30% hull, then I volley it to finish it off and get the wreck ownership almost every time. (Unless I failed to finish it off in the one shot.)

I did a couple of them last weekend. Not much, 7-9. I see no reasons to run them until you are focused to farm these Gala sites hardly. Their difficulty is the same, drop loot near the same. It’s funny, because I finished 5 of them and didn’t got any accelerator.

Goodies:

  • they spawn more frequent;
  • you can have a normal and a VIP site in one system;
  • I noticed that BS and Capital ship Skins drops more frequently;
  • their normal types are hard as Hi-Sec variants;
  • low concurrence;

Penalties:

  • You have to fly a ship, which you are ready to lose;
  • it’s good to drop loot every 30mins on a NPC station;
  • some locals have a purpose to hunt you, like FW;
  • their loot is the same as in Hi-Sec, considering risks;

Well, had a tactics re-think and a ship re-fit, went out and successfully completed a Gala site in just a few minutes …

… only to have some bastard warp in and steal the Battleship loot.

Always d-scan, even in highsec.

That could of been me on an alt, were you doing it around Hek area? your name rings a bell…

the “every one knows” knowledge is that total damage done rewards the wreck, my experience however indicates is it is a combination of damage and final hit. not knowing for sure is what keeps things interesting.
