its better than wanting to increase concords time to allow for more ganking on regular ships and not just orcas… since the orca is supposed to be a booster, compared to the porpoise, they can use that instead of the orca.
You can already gank regular ships, they never have enough tank and so this change would be moot for them. This would only affect ships with a huge tank.
and the gankers are the ones telling people to add more tank, now that they are using ships that are tanky as hell, yall are crying.
To be fair, we really should buff ganking in general anyways.
Bumps up destruction and stimulates production and trade. Makes pvp easier and increases agency. And new players are more likely to stay if they are ganked…
Anderson in 3…2…1…
lol, drugs are bad for you.
No, it’s the stupid way to do so. You have no data, so all I need is to tell it, and your claim is BS.
I don’t think it’s false data. It IS NO data.
ok you have no idea what you are talking about.
BS.
sums up the topic, can be closed now.

7x Orcas
7x Barges (2x Covetors. 2x Procs. 2x Skiffs. 1x Mack)
1x Miasmos
For a total of:
11x Orcas.
12x Barges (5x Cov. 2x Mack. 3x Procs. 2x Skiffs).
2x Miasmos.
1x Porpoise.
Update:
Here is 3 of the Orcas in a moon belt: None are hauling for the Mack. It’s going back and forth itself. No Orca is boosting or supporting.
Here is another 3 in another moon belt:
And the last one was idle and tethered at a refinery. No barges on grid. So far 0/7 Orcas are used for fleet support.
2nd update:
In the second belt, the multi-boxing Orcas are running active shield reppers and one is using shield boosts…so technically one orca providing fleet support… even if it is to help it run afk.
you need to repeat the same lie at least 1000 times before it becomes truth.
Increased*
Reduced = Less time
Increased = More time
You had it right in the title.
CCP Hellmar doesn’t like farmers anymore, so I’m pretty sure CCP will be addressing this eventually. Maybe they need a proper nudge in this specific direction, but I doubt a thread in this subforum is going to achieve that.
Yes, but actually the part you quoted did not mention time, I deliberately left it out to leave open the possibility of other kinds of changes.
Ah! Indeed! My brain added the “time” into it. Sorry!
That’s because I put it in the title to confuse people
I’m all in favor of addressing the fact that Orcas (and Rorqals) have become powerful mining ships in their own right instead of mining support ships.
Altering CONCORD response time is not the way to address this issue because:
A) CONCORD response time impacts far more than just Orcas, and
B) Changing CONCORD response time will not shift Orca use more towards mining support as opposed to mining
Hard no, -1. I support your desired end goal, but your means of achieving it are totally borked.
The most efficient fix for all that lack of destruction is, in fact, increasing CONCORD response time. They should make an event where they do just that and see what happens.
True, they can always chicken out and cave to the RMTers like with blackout.
I don’t think they’ve chickened out. They’ve always said it was going to be temporary. Since blackout, we’ve seen that they’ve started steering into a different direction than pre-blackout. They’re aware that one of the most important things for them to do is progressing slowly, because as long as they’re doing it slowly, all those farmers are going to leave slowly, which is ultimately much better than if they all left suddenly.
I’ve looked at what public data there is too look at. I’ve found no indication of there being a need to “chicken out”. In fact, the only data point I’ve seen, which has shown an actually dramatic change, was the number of NPCs killed within 24 hours. What they’re doing now is just what they’ve been doing over the last couple of years, but in reverse. CCP makes changes to the game which discourages certain types of players from playing. These same changes encourage other types of players from playing. They’re finally beginning reducing the amount of farmers.
If you want a direct pointer at the beginning of the last “era” of such a population change, then you only need to look at Crimewatch 2.0. From that point on CCP slowly, but steadily, changed the game towards farmers. It seems that, with the blackout, we’ve reached the end of that era.

1x Miasmos
New total:
18x Orcas.
18x Barges (5x Cov. 4x Mack. 3x Proc. 6x Skiff).
3x Miasmos.
1x Porpoise.
Here are 4 Orcas: One Orca is hauling for the skiff. Other Orcas aren’t boosting or hauling for barges.
Here is another 1: It is boosting and hauling for the Skiffs.
6th Orca: Solo mining.
The last orca is not at a moon. But all barges were accounted for in the screenshots, so it ain’t supporting barges whatever its doing. So i count 2/14 Orcas are used for mining support.
