here come another topic from a guy not playing the game
Note the thread about the significant difference in strength of NPCs in highsec. A guy lost his ship because in all of his playing he has never been alpha striked by NPCs in it. But then Vigilant Tyrannos comes a long and out of curisoty he targets it and his golem get instantly killed. Its low key sociopathic.
Other examples is Tether on upwell structures but not Stations, can remote trash items in stations but not upwell stuctures. Some stations dont have repair, some dont have industry, and some have poor reprocessing yields. These details does not add anything to the game, they are just there to make it complicated Sad
(It seems you cant remotely delete items in upwell stations because zomg someone might delete them if structure is about to blow it up, but the solution is a trash bin in that case. The items are deleted âclient sideâ but they will continue to exist for 24 hours or more and can still drop). This solves the issue of not being able to remote trash items in Upwell structures.
-Peace!
The answer is âyesâ. And "no. Also âyesâ, but sometimes ânoâ. But mostly âyesâ.
one day he will make a solid post with kwodnlegeâŚbut it will never arise
I think he already literally does that.
Not sure about knowledge
though.
The issue is these days people donât want to risk anything in order to learn, its why people cried when SISI was taken away because it means they would have to actually RISK something in order to earn the REWARD
The newer EVE generation would never have survived back when i started
And the best part is, you can look that info up ingame pretty easily by following the chain of information presented in the show info window, issue is, people donât read and they donât want to do the research themselves to learn, you know, like you do in the real world
EVE has most of the information you need handily linked from the item in question, in this case you do a show info on the miner that uses crystals, you look at the âused withâ tab and you then go through that list and look at the description and , tada, you find your crystal
Yes this takes effort, but anything worth doing usually does, and you can do the same when it comes to finding out what ammo a weapon uses, what fuel a given ship needs etc
People just donât want to read, or learn, or do any of this for themselves
SISI was taken away because certain elements were using it to game an unfair advantage in Tranquility.
Most players want SISI back so they can actually test the new features before CCP releases then ultimately patches.
A small minority want SISI back to exploit an unfit advantage. For that reason, it ainât coming backâŚ
They exist to force you to make a choice, this makes certain stations worth more than others, if every station could do everything to the exact same level you would just be removing a strategic element
If only 1 station in the system has good reprocessing yields then thats where the miners will congregate naturally instead of you having to direct them, if you control access to the station with cloning facilities then you can prevent your enemies from getting back in to the fight etc
There are lots of layers to the game and ultimately these things all serve as choices, if everything does exactly the same then there isnât really a choice to be made, why do you think jita 4-4 ended up as the center of the trade universe?
It was in the right location and offered the right combination of facilities for people to make use of, the same applies to each of the more minor trade hubs, these things only exist because not all stations and locations are created equally
Correct, by being able to min-max without risk, you were gaining a reward without risking anything in exchange, which isnât how this game should function, SISI should have been more restricted a LONG time ago
And they do mass tests for the things they want testing, they arenât going to be releasing expansions on SISI anymore because that just lets people game the system, which they donât want, i get what youâre saying from a certain point of view but you know full well how much EVE players will abuse systems where they can
That. They should have restricted SISI years ago to a handful of empty systems where you can test fittings, tactics, mechanics⌠but not run PvE content until you found a 100% failsafe setup or scan/scout/destroy other players stations to look whatâs gonna drop.
yeahâŚok i made one tiny grammatical error miss prof
Fixed it for you! Itâs not hard to beat the game if you make any kind of effort.
And thatâs a sad fact. I miss testing fits. I would never have believed my DSTâs were that fast without shooting at my own ships somewhere else in game otherwise.
You must be new! You missed the grammar police and the punction police!
I wish you were there for that. Surprisingly, it was more fun than the forums we now have.
Itâs too bad they canât limit SISI to a specific region that doesnât offer any ability to gleam an unfair advantage on Tranquility.
I voted no, because the game itself is not too complicated - it is in fact already too stupidified compared to 2015.
However there are many overly complex things that shouldnât be there like:
Terrible GUI design that complicates tasks, confuses with missing / hidden or wrong information and just flat out spams the players with flashing lights / markers / highlighted icons that canât be deleted etc.
Stupid design implementations like ESS, Drifter Wormholes etc, that has a whole new set of game rules you need to learn and keep track of, is overly complicated, for no benefit for the overall game. Complex game good, inconsistent game bad.
eve is slow, not complicated, imagine wasting YEARS to learn how to fly some ship, wtf
Something tells me people vote no becaues they think thats the smart option
or because isnât that complicate once you put effort to understand it and, get this, ask around
Or Maybe because the overwhelming majority of the activities you can do in EVE simple arenât that complicated. There are a few things unnessessary overcomplex or counterintuitve, and yes, they could use some simplification/rework. But besides that, most of the content is pretty fine and understandable with putting a bit of effort into learning how it works.
