Main AFK cloaky thread

Another potential RMTer, I see.

Cloaky camping isn’t an issue for anyone competent at playing the game. It’s exclusively botters, RMT’ers and renter trash whining about it. People that expect perfect safety at all times. They have no business being anywhere near nullsec and deserve no sympathy. None at all.

Yea, I’ve heard that nonsense repeated a lot. If that were actually true people wouldn’t be cloaky camping this much.

Avoiding getting dropped by a cloaky camper is less about individual competence than it is about a groups ability to have a strong 24/7 defense force capable of counter-dropping the likely forces being dropped by the camper. Even then if you’re not able to tank the drop for a few minutes, it’s still not going to help.

So basically unless you’re in a Rorqual or Super mining/ratting safely within the super umbrella of one of the big null-sec blocs, cloaky camping is going to be a problem.

When I started playing Eve I was told: the greater the risk, the greater the reward. And if you play it safe, don’t expect to get big rewards. Whenever something came up that defied this basic concept of Eve CCP fixed it (mostly). But one thing has been constantly ignored over the years and in the meantime has grown to a real plague: paid cloaky harassers.

I am not talking about the generic cloaky guy in 0 space, we all know these, we all don’t like these, but that’s ok. I am talking about people who get paid to professionally harass other corps/alliances and exploit the cloaky mechanic to do so to minimize risk while maximizing income. Just to give you an example: we currently have one guy in our space that is running 30 accounts simultaneously and plays them multi-boxed. He has a bomber in all our systems and several Black Ops to bridge them wherever they are needed. As soon as you fly anywhere alone, you can be sure to have a bomber up your ass a second later. He never attacks if there is any risk involved, but he kills everything that moves if he can.

This guy is getting paid several billions per day to do this, so if he looses a few bombers he really doesn’t care at all, he just jumps in new ones. So effectively he is hanging out in 0 space, does PvP a lot, and makes billions and billions, at barely any risk at all.

The main problem is that CCP has neglected over and over again to implement any form of counter vs cloaky campers. So he can choose when to fight and when not to (and with 30 accounts he has total system surveillance), and there is nothing we can do about it. Even if we manage to bait and actually kill a few of his ships, he makes more ISK per day than we could ever bait away from him. I am not going further into the general cloaky camper problem here, as everyone knows them, but simply ask one question dedicated to CCP:

When will you finally stop the risk vs. reward exploitation that professional cloaky harassers currently are?

Most of us actually have no issue with cloaky campers hindering RMTers from easy mode farming. People who are against them are in strong suspicion of being RMTers, btw.

Also, this belongs into the main afk cloaky thread.

Have a nice day.

This forum is also in dire need of a feature that can remove pointless posts form ppl that post their random crap below everything without ever reading anything.

You only want them gone so you can rat in 100% safety.

Harden up and deal with them yourself. It can be done and isn’t even all that difficult. Only the lazy and stupid can’t deal with the issue and you don’t deserve saving from CCP if you fall into those categories.

Additionally, only carebears cry for others to handle their problems and surely your entire alliance of nearly 2500 members isn’t all carebears?

Kids with Guns Alliance… Very well known botters and RMTers…

Guess what, nobody here gives a ■■■■ that you can’t bot 23/7 in perfect safety. Who’s the guy camping you? I want to tip him for combating all the bots that CCP so blatantly ignores.

Kind of proves the point I was trying to make in that other thread. CCP not only doesn’t care about cloacky camping, but is actively burying discussion on the topic.

So yea. Literally no point discussing this.

Putting the discussion in one place were it is easy to keep track of and watch for is hardly Burrying Discussion.

Besides 99% of all these posts not being actual discussions, but “i am right, you are wrong”.

Piling a bunch of disjointed threads into one massive scrapheap of unrelated posts hardly qualifies as a discussion. This thread is a dumping ground that nobody could possibly follow, and yes, it is most definitely burying the conversation.

Not true, how many people want or have the time to read through 2297+ posts from the beginning?

It is reaching book/encyclopedia levels now.

I have seen many different topics covering minor details for the same feature to change or implement it in a different way, but they are not consolidated as vigorously as this topic.

Far more preferable then a dozen posts scattered across all corners of the forums, that making tracking that much more difficult and to maintain, and then you have people who preety much said what another guy/girl said in a different post.

I agree. You would be gone, and many others would be gone as well. The situation would improve dramatically, because suddenly actual intelligent discourse would happen, uninterrupted by those who believe that having an opinion is all that is needed to talk about things.

Glad that we agree on this.

No, that’s pretty much how all discussion forums work, and it’s been working pretty well for most other topics.

I am really glad to see us on the same page regarding this.

Keep it up keeping it up! : D
