I was just thinking about this - if this doesn’t work the end user could enable the App to receive keyboard inputs in the system preferences > security > (I forget). I will take some screen shots and such to show people how when I get out of work.
As I had stated in the post, pressing ctrl+F shows the discrete GPU (AMD Radeon Pro 5300M) but, checking though different tools, it appears that the system is using the integrated one.
To check on any machine, just keep the game running in the background and go on the ‘apple menu>about this mac’ to see which GPU the system is using in that moment, regardless of what the FPS monitor (ctrl+F) states.
Again, with the wine client it does not have this issue.
When I get home tonight I’ll try to log
In and report the bug using the infame tool.
Apologies, I was reading just a small part of the quoted text. Thanks for getting back to me.
We’ll be taking a look into this.
After some quick testing both Jita crashes (docked and undocked) are fixed. Awesome work! I will continue to test over the weekend and will report anything I find. Client is very solid, love it! Really awesome work @CCP_Caffeine and team!
You should be able force the client to use your eGPU.
Hold option and click Go on the menu bar > library > application support > CCP > the folder holding the mac app should be in there. Do a show info and tell it to prefer the eGPU.
As a side note: if your laptop has the Touch Bar, you can drag that app icon into the keyboard pref that says when app is running to use the F-keys (will get a guide built for this later. Once hell/work is over.
It is not an eGPU, it’s the internal discrete GPU. But still, I’ll try it.
On the side note, i had already tried to do it in the last play test, but it did not work. I’ll try again this time. I like that possibility, I use it on excel where I use the F4 key a lot.
Sorry: I swear my reading comp skills get lower and lower from all the forums I read.
My memory may be fuzzy, but I sort of feel like macOS when it had both an iGPU and dGPU the finder side used the iGPU for increased efficiency but apps would be kicked to the dGPU for better performance. Like I said, my memory might be fuzzy and wine always does weird stuff. I think the activity tracker in the utilities folder has options to see GPU per app/function. But I am at work and cannot check.
I do wish you the best of luck.
Under wine, my mac mini struggles with 3 accounts. 4 almost bricks it. Under the native I had 6 running with like 40% CPU. EGPU with a 580. But every machine is always a tiny bit different.
I set the F- key thing up technically after the last play test - and as the app isn’t in your application folder I had to try to figure it out. Once I found the keyboard setting for it, I think I dragged the eve app over and dropped it in and it worked. I launched Sisi server and once’s the App launched it changed the keys.
A lot of Apples cool features fail because people forget how to do them, as they tend to be buried.
Update on my test…
Seems that when undocked. Things slows down and eventually end up in loading wheel. It froze, up to the point that it froze my whole mac, where you can’t do anything other than a forced shutdown.
Gonna try some options and see what works.

I noticed that when I load the EVE client it changes my audio output to 48kHz 24bit. It would be nice if it didn’t change it as I do use higher bitrates normally. You can see this in the Audio MIDI Setup app.
@CCP_Caffeine Just did some testing - High shader is still doing the odd God Rays on Amarr gates.
Your bug report was successfully sent and has the ID EBR-222418
I’ve also uploaded a new video.
@CCP_Caffeine I just sent the bug report EBR-222415
I just wanted to add, for your testing, that you should not be connected to an external display, as this makes the system switch to the dGPU.
~If* I can mange to login to Sis long enough to get a bug report in I will, but playing on Sisi from my 2013 Mac Pro is impossible at the moment IF I manage to get logged in the hangar view graphics are completely messed, up. The graphics clear up after undocking and I manage to get out to a combat anomaly, but receive a “Cluster shutdown” message before getting there. A short time later the game completely crashes and I have to reboot to get everything to reset. Attempting to relog ends in a solid red screen with background music. Unplayable. Attempting to restart the game locks up all other programs and interactions until the game is killed. Can’t even get back in to create a bug report.

This test is very encouraging. Yes there are certainly bugs and crashes and I submitted my report from the mass test, but the this version shows much progress from the last test and the fact that there is a native M1 client adds to the excitement. In the previous test the client didn’t run much better than the WINE client.
The WINE client consumes most of my CPU and even with low graphics settings it is a bit choppy with one client. If I run two clients it’s usable, but the lag is a bit frustrating. With the current native client I’m able to run two clients with video optimized for quality, get around 60 frames per second, and it’s usable. With 5 clients it’s unusable until I optimize the video for performance and then it’s very usable. I performed a number of operations including running a combat site over several hours with 5 clients active and noticed very little performance issues. While doing this i was also streaming a TV show. I did notice some apps were pretty laggy. Browsers were usable but were laggy. Discord was unusable, but I find that to be a common problem. Apps are mostly fine with three clients and with two I hardly noticed a difference with apps.
I hope this or better performance is what we will get even in high activity situations once it’s more stable. I am definitely hopeful after this test.
My Specs:
I have all clients set to Window mode with a resolution of 2560 x 1315 with the windows spread over 3x ASUS PB278 (2560 x 1440), UI Scaling 100%, Present Interval one.

Very nice indeed, thanks CCP macOS devs.
Big Sur 11.4, MB Air M1 2020, Apple M1 + 8GB.
Runs great for me, 100x better than the WINE version which made me avoid logging in lately.
All settings maxed, went here there and everywhere inc. 4-4 etc. Good Job!

The graphics are excellent. When ever I jump or go into an Abyss, I get these dancing lights when using the Wine client. Did not happen either time on the Test server. Also, I can see so much clearer in the Abyss than before. One thing I notice when Docking at Jita, it would either blink or the station would grow (getting closer) and then immediately shrink then grow again. I tried to reproduce the growing/shrinking station but only got video of the station blinking. Docking to Jita Station
Great Job! Cannot wait for when it is live.
Unable to login when using Singularity. Account created in 2014. Using 13inch M1 MacBook Pro
You might have been doing what’s called “rubber banding” were your network sort of hiccups but doesn’t cut out. It happens a lot more than you might realize for people.
Turn off hardware acceleration for Discord. I had issues with it from eating up a lot of GPU performance.
This happens to me regularly on Tranquility since whenever. Not just on Jita, any station can have it.
