The problem is clearly user error you lack the skills and pilot skill to make use of the polarized fits and you are to blame you rushed out with out thinking.
The polarized fits work but you MUST BE SKILLED to make use of them otherwise you will LOSE THE SHIP. They all so did not force you in anyway to use the polarized fits you took one look and i doub you even fully watched the Vid just the fit and jumped right in.
Polarized fits with the right skills implants and drugs will destroy missions but are all ways risky a few little errors and you can lose the ship as there is not a lot of wiggle room.
I would stay stick to the basic fits till you have the skill to try the polarized fits and next time try them on the test server so you can learn how to use the fit with out risking billions trying to learn.
Absolutely incredible. The OP title is about a Marauder and as āproofā of his claims against the two mentioned, the guy links to a video showing the fit and use of a polarized Barghest. \ļ¼æ ļ¼æ /
And in the video you can see him lose half his shields pretty quickly. I wouldnāt touch that with a 10 foot pole myself. I guess I know enough about PVE that I know how little I know about PVE.
Maybe he believed that every battleship is roughly going to have the same characteristics with more expensive ships exhibiting stronger advantages than cheaper ships do. Like the way the meta modules all used to be before tiericide.
i read again this post and i canāt help thinking that OP is a fake/troll. āXX said in his video that i should get plenty of isks using this fit, i did not get the isks, i want to get my isks backā Itās too big to be trueā¦
I agree though that CCP balanced polarized modules very badly. First because adding ONE module is already too much effect (going from say 60% resist to 0% is taking 2.5 times the damage - or losing 60% of your EHP )
Instead they should have an incremental effect, like 2% less HP on each layer and 2% less max speed. or reduction in targeting range, or number of targets (down to minimum 1), or increase in sig, or reduction in cap recharge, etc.
There are a lot of other things they can do, that would be smoothier than this raw āmany of your modules become uselessā that makes no sense to start with.
I donāt really find the same kind of interest in module minutia that you do so I donāt have any opinion on the exact mechanics of polarization one way or another. The only reason I decided to make a comment is because the OP said you were scamming people by promoting āfakeā fits and I know you well enough to know that you donāt do that.
Polarized Golem works fine when MJD+MWDed to 140km range, sieged and just wrecks everything.
Of course tanking any damage in polarized ship (and prob at beacon with MTU deployed) is just a terrible idea. But with so many ways to shoot yourself in the foot in EVE, caring about this particular issue seems kinda weird.
Linked thread title: (2.1k DPS) Polarized Barghest is so fast in L4 missions!
Zero talk of Marauders anywhere in the thread. Because the Barghest isnāt a Marauder.
So, OP, did you apply the Barghest fit to a Marauder (and if so - which one??) and then get unexpected results that were never promised or suggested by Acey or @Anderson_Geten, or is your thread title in error?
If you are looking for someone who has demonstrated polarized marauders in action, check out @Gustav_Mannfred 's Youtube channel - he just uploaded a re-examination of polarized marauders on April 5, looking at how recent changes to Marauders may have impacted their utility.
Edit to clarify that the Barghest isnāt a Marauder (those being Golem, Paladin, Kronos, and Vargur).
You do realize you broke the absolute first rule of eve, DO NOT undock anything you cant afford to lose.
Secondly, ships are NOT investments they are tools, buying plex, skill injectors, commodities in eve to hold for a better price, that is more akin to investing.
Third, donāt take advice as gospel from people on the internet.
Forth, if you were in bastion mode you have NO way to break off which means you should have learn to use the ship and itās features properly.
Fifth, did you use eve survival, if not you were under informed which means you werenāt ready for such a mission.
All that posted, Iām not here to bash you about Iām simply trying to point you to common errors people make if they are not ready for those missions and ships.
First off as others have said, that video is not about a Marauder. So if you tried an actual marauder that is your mistake. Not all ships are created equal.
One of the awesome things I love about EVE is that it really reinforces the ideas of personal responsibility and accountability. Sadly 2 things in the modern age that have been lost to the notion that you are a victim and someone else is to blame.
Regardless of what you may see from other people it is YOUR personal responsibility to evaluate things for yourself and verify YOU have the skills and experience to fly a fit you might see elsewhere.
