Because there’s a difference between meaningful real wars and meaningless fake ones?
I feel like you’re taking a jokey celebration way too seriously because it suits your own personal aims.
ok, so it is one site that is possible to kite but face tanking still needs more than a normal covert ship, and probes are not at all required, and the loot is pretty cheap, and only in pochven. I am suggesting a site that is far more puzzle than shooting and has to be solved by hacking cans in the right order or shooting and looting specific structures, as opposed to dropping a single drone and orbiting with a microwarp drive and not even scanning the site.
What’s the difference except for actual deaths? Both involve actual people, both require actual planning, both require actual time commitment, both require procurement of materials, both require building war machinery, both have tangible consequences, both usually have weirdo leaders declaring the wars over pointless arguments. But it’s futile to argue anyway because CCP is just cringe weird at times. Funny thing is that CCP celebrates Singles Day with doubling the sucking our your soul. You have to have a weird sense of humor to do that.
…the fact that one takes place in a video game?
Who died in the great Battle of Asakai? Where shall we place the memorial to those lost in the Casino War? At the head of the Reflecting Pool at the Mall, perhaps?
Deaths aren’t the only things defining a war. We have a memorial for all sorts of EVE players in Reykjavik already.
CCP doesnt respect themselves, why should we expect them to respect anything else?
Both of the new exploration sites were successfully cleared. In conclusion, very disappointing and not worth more than a landmark.
These sites do not require probe scans and can be identified as beacons in the overview. (like incursion site.) Currently, these sites are only displayed as ‘Celestial Beacon’, and there is no way to determine the name of the site until you issue a warp command to the site. In other words, even the minimum content function was not properly created.
The Overmind Nursery Groves site is easy to blitz. Destroying and salvaging the target structure yields only one Enhanced Electro-Neural Signaler. This is the essence of “supercapital construction components”. Other NPCs have a salvaging value of only 10M isk and no loot.
The AEGIS Capital Ship Security Facility site has an extremely difficult level of difficulty. Only T1 Frigate ~ T3 Cruiser classes can enter, and all gates inside can be used. Also, similar to the SCC site, there is a limit on the number of people, and only one person can break into the site.
There are 8 AEGIS Gunstars in the first pocket on the site, which should be tanked for 1600 DPS. The last pocket lags very badly with a lot of objects and effects. In addition, you have to engage with a number of AEGIS NPCs, and their specs and AI are very poor like the early SCC sites.
In the last pocket, hacked items only give you capital construction components, i.e. poor items like Electro-Neural Signaler. Hacking is also very difficult, so ships without hacking bonuses are very easy to fail.
In summary, the site has no value at all due to the extremely difficult difficulty, the limit of the number of people, and the rewards that are too low for that. This is because items dropped from these sites are easier, safer, faster, and more obtainable from the Ghost Data site. The most disappointing thing is the quality of content design and balance that doesn’t feel like even QA has been done. If you don’t get a sense of how bad this is, it can be described as having the same level of risk-return as the Incursion Scout Site.
Overall rewards need to be improved and site balance adjusted. I hope the CCP understands that this site is of no value at the moment.
I leave a few killmails here. I sacrificed those ships and got 3M isk worth of items. These sites are not as dynamic as you might think.
Is the orca going to get compression that would be nice do to it not being that good of a mining ship anymore
orca doesn’t need to do compression.
See, this is why we need name change certificates… so you can change your name from “May Cry” to “Will Cry”.
Oh, I guess that means we’ll need sex change certificates as well.
Anyway, I seriously doubt we’ll see a return to the age of abundance, but I do expect things to improve.
Of course, that won’t stop people from complaining.
Speaking of which, does anyone want to make any terrible predictions?
Well, after two years of letting @CCP_Rattati run wild with the nerf bat, they can’t really get much worse can they?
Because singles day is apparently a bigger shopping day that black friday.
Besides, as a veteran, I could give a flying ■■■■ about veteran’s day, “thank you for your service”'s, and “we support our troops” stickers. I’d much rather people stop paying lip service to supporting the troops, and demand that their representatives actually ■■■■■■■ support veterans by giving them the medical care and disability payments that they ■■■■■■■ deserve.
Instead it’s deny, deny until they die.
I’ve made a reddit post about the cap sites in lowsec. The problem with these sites is that the rats instant lock and there are a LOT of mines in the room that are basically unavoidable. If someone has completed one of these sites, I’m amazed that they were even able to. The rats lock at 200km and prevent you from cloaking and you have to go through the massive amount of mines to get to the data can
Did you put in a new sound when the ship starts warping? It’s kind of annoying and I’d like to turn it off. Or maybe it was there the whole time and I just started noticing.
well aparently was to hard for “small” corps ganks rorqualds
Honestly, I like where T2 and (most) capital ship prices are. Personally, I would like to see T1 BS’s and Freighters get a little cheaper (and I’m not sure how I feel about faction ship prices, but I’m leaning towards wanting to see them get cheaper).
But I suppose if you ask 10 people, you’ll get 10 different answers on what they think ship prices should be.
Anyway, the new exploration sites can’t hurt cap prices. So, that’s something for you to be happy about.
What if someone tries to use a dread to go into the site and loses it? And what if this happens to multiple people. The site might not change the amount of the inputs that go into a cap or the use of the input materials, but the price of just about anything goes up if people lose it carelessly and builds a replacement.
Any activity where it is popular to use a certain hull, if said activity is done by people who don’t pay attention to D-scan they will drive the price up of the hull by accident.
Although to be honest, this isn’t likely at all. What’s the likelihood that a single site sees 30 dreadnaught wrecks over a year? You’re almost certainly right that this is just simply new content that won’t monkey around with the prices, but in principle any activity which have a chance for people to be as dumb as me can put pressure as people get replacements.
Well, I’m a cheating multiboxer that is ruining the game, but I personally love my audio queues -and not just the shield/armor/hull/cap alarms. I also love that I can hear crystals breaking and when boosts are about to fire. I also wish we had more, such as when a bastion mod is about to cycle or a module is about to overheat.
Of course, some people will argue that it’s dumbing down the game (like they did with the drone warning). But, I found the alarms to be extremely helpful as a newbro (I could sometimes get too focused on one thing), and they help me to do something that I think is rather impressive. I dunno, but I hardly consider being able to effectively multibox in PvE and PvP to be simple, easy, or “dumb”. So, to me the real argument against additional alarms would be if people didn’t want to make things any easier for multiboxers.
