New Mining Ships

Its called the Outrider.

Its a very small version of an industrial command support ship.

The Outrider is a T2 mining command destroyer.

A hybrid between a mining ship with mining lasers and a mining foreman ship with mining bursts. Much more mobile than the Porpoise, Orca and Rorqual, with a micro jump field generator capable of repositioning an entire mining fleet at once.

It’s a fun little ship and it has in many cases replaced my Porpoise.

Maybe it would be nice to add new modules or ship rigs that can give some survivability to mining fleets against suicide gankers in high-sec. Break locks or give some ECM to get a chance to escape overall.
This would make the pilots need to rework their strategies and go beyond the classic get a catalyst multibox fleet and boom.

It’s called “tank”

I know this is unrelated to the forum post, but i would like to share a video of a person mining in high sec in a venture for a hour and making 1.5 mil ISK worth of compressed ore, compressed at Athanor.

the youtube link might get blocked though.

I hope they had fun, because if they’re doing it for the ISK I find it hard to think of an ISK-positive activity that pays less than that.

Why on Earth? I just told the Youtuber they stand to make much more in LS mining gas.

Have fun!

I just looked at the videos on that Youtube channel, it has 150 videos and 8 subscribers. All the videos deal with making very little ISK in the game. It appears to be more about what they are doing. Here are some titles that should give us some idea;

  • High sec mining plagioclase 450k isk worth of compressed plagioclase – 7 days ago
  • High sec combat anomaly 600k ISK, 6 mil loot – 3 days ago
  • Level 1 security missions 500k pay, 5 mil loot, including salvage – 1 month ago

They also have some Albion online, Realm of the Mad God, and Wizard 101 mixed in there. I assume it is someone just doing a “Let’s Play” site for fun. Players in this game for more than 6 months, look at 5 and 6 million, can recall the old feeling that was a lot of ISK to new comers.

I have been playing this game for a while and 6 mil loot is still alot to me. How are you guys making more than that in high sec? Or are you guys doing things that are known to give alot of money, like low sec gas, faction warfare Loyalty Points, null sec exploration, null sec PvE in big null sec alliance?

Im apart of a group that fixes standings for others. Pay is good. Plus training skills makes a difference. Have you considered doing that yet??

I can only train skills to Level 3 or 4. Last time i tried training skills alot i hit the 5 million skill point limit for alpha characters and had to delete my character. I think twice now.

There is no reason to delete a character once you hit the alpha SP cap.

You can continue training with SP from (daily) injectors, daily challenges and log-in rewards.

Or consider Omega!

Is there more than one person using this account?

All this has been explained to you several times over. Surely, you cant be that forgetful about the last time you asked this very same question.

Training = Better ships = higher content = more isk = being happy.

Alpha injectors allow you to get up to 20 mil sp

Trading.

I make ISK from gas mining in low sec, you can find it in high but it is very rare, you stand a better chance scanning it down in low. I run a venture very cheap, the real cost is the 2 gas cloud scoops. You need the gas mining skill at level 2 to start. Set your probes to scan for gas and you are good to go. I can get 35 to 40 million an hour with very little effort and zero ships lost. However finding the gas clouds is the toughest part. Scanning is very daunting and some days I don’t get any bites.

People are scared they will get blown up in low, but people are also scared of sharks. Yet we still go to the beach. Knowing where the sharks are is way too easy.

Have fun!

Hmmmm

The beach = high sec.
The water = low sec.

BRUCE miners teach you the the way to mine in low sec is to set up a base, in the proper system first. You will lose ships, but we mine more than we lose, that is the win in our book. When you can bank more than you are spending on ships, you are exceeding the goal. I have many disposable vessles parked in a low sec station, bookmarks allow me safe passage inside the system, knowing who and what to watch for is all you need to be a successful and productive miner.

It is a real shame no one takes advantage of our lessons all that much, I never seem to give them my tips to wormhole mining. I suppose they will figure it out on their own.

Well, thats maybe because they are already comfortable with how they are progressing in the game…or theyve already been taught the bad rep this game has about the more hostile areas that exist. Perhaps instead of just recommending it, you should take them on a small op or something. Sometimes thats all it takes to kickstart people into new endeavors. Either way, yes they will eventually figure things out.

Anyway, my statement above was referring to the somewhat lacking analogy that Rose Ivory stated. Sharks arent going to pop up on the beach to eat people, now are they. :stuck_out_tongue:

BRUCE is a relativly new alpha corp, so I won’t assume you are being obtuse. Basically we gift new players a fully fitted venture ready for any alpha to start mining ore and gas. We are sort of in the same venue as Mike Azariah and his Magic School Bus program. He works the schools handing out fully fitted for PvP. Then he wishes them good luck. We don’t step on his toes.

Our group CEO Lucy, has us going one step further. We teach mining lessons to those who want to learn the ropes. This is not a corp recruitment program, we don’t recruit anyone, BRUCE is private for good reasons. The lessons are;

  1. Basic mining tricks to save your bacon.
  2. Low sec mining and setting up an HQ.
  3. Wormhole mining, how to clear those cosmics, and set up HQ in there. I lived inside a C2 WH with no station for months.
  4. Pochven mining.
  5. Null sec mining.

So yes, we do take them out on 5 ops, if they desire, no charge. The CEO likes to dish out the rewards for completion of each course, but we still have a hangar… several hangars full of stuff she bought. Problem is no one trusts you when you give them free stuff in this game. At present, Lucy is attending college in the real world, so I try not to bother her with this work of fiction. She opened the BRUCE mining school back in 2025.
