Let’s hope so, there’s a lot of new players in RUN Corp asking what they should do.
@CCP_Explorer. Any feedback on the scrubbed IP’s that cant log in now in some instances for several days? An why have you requested us to provide you with logs and additional information, and when we have done so, not even an acknowledgement of receipt or that you are attending to it? I do not mind that there are challenges, but the silence around this is bad…
Definitely all good questions.
Hopefully there will be some good answers to them.
still cannot login. If u use an already present pilot I receive “token error” if I add a new player i receive could not connect to login server
It’s likely trying to refresh an existing token for the pilot that’s already known and reports it as a token error. While the new pilot needs to get a first token and there it results in a different error message. In both cases however does it need to contact the login service (to either receive a first token or to refresh an existing one).
Could not log in after DT Sunday 5th, first error was the “TOKEN” refresh, tried to log into account management , website could not be found. A restart of the client no effect, restart of the PC no effect, restarted PC & Router was successful.
Just to be clear @Whitehound , do you still think we should all call our ISP?
You never really retracted that advice…
If CCP hadn’t admitted the problem is indeed on their end, I suspect you would still be repeating their incorrect initial appraisal. Frankly, I’m not sure where your confidence in them comes from, given the state of the game?
When you change something and then there is suddenly a bunch of problems, the change is usually the source of the problems. It’s rather annoying there was such confidence the issue was not on their end given they knew they had just implemented DDoS mitigation measures.
Still waiting for more than a canned reply to my ticket…
If your problem persists then, yes, you should.
@CCP_Explorer as of 03:00, I was still not able to log-in due to scrubbed IP issues, Port 26000 etc. I had to change my ports to 3724 in my prefs.ini file as a temp solution. I was able to log-in, but not sure if this a perm fix or should change back. Still no official word from CCP.
My neighbor has the same ISP and WIFI - still had same problem. So not sure who to blame here. I am just missing a day of ISK profits… lol. Any info would be helpful. Thx CCP.
P.S. I did install CyberGhost VPN, needed to anyways, but did not help. Definitely an ISP issue.
@Shai_Hulud contacting ISP will get you nowhere. IMHO.
After a reboot of my pc and my router I can login
It may only tell you where the problem isn’t to be found, but you won’t know until you do.
Did I miss something?
CCP admits the problems are caused by their DDoS mitigation efforts, and you want me to call my ISP? Why?
Should I contact my local pizza hut about these issues as well?
Yes, you might have a different problem. You only think CCP is responsible, but nothing is actually stopping you from having all sorts of problems. For some was the problem resolved after they’ve restarted their PC or router for example.
I can fix my issues by restarting the app. But the issues re-appear after about an hour. And just in case that dumb idea comes up: I won’t set alarm clocks to restart the app all night nor will I do an absolutely dumb workaround with a cron job.
As with everyone else here I have been unable to login since downtime yesterday. I have read numerous threads and based on what I perceived to be informed posts, I fired up my VPN and logged into a server in New Jersey. To my surprise I was able to login with no problem. So there does seem to be a regional issue affecting the logins. Does anyone else have any input on this?
@emanonnekeerf that could work. I am still catching up from yesterday, so don not have time to test that. Mine is working now cuz I changed my port numbers as a temp fix. I am looged in to game now, so at least I can get in.
and just for the record… I tried to solve my issue by…
turning everything off and on multiple times
switching computers & another person’s account
switching to neighbor’s wifi (same ISP)
switching to a VPN
Safe reboots
Changed Firewall permissions
Changed Windows Defender permissions (hate this pgm)
Changed my Anti-virus permisions
Updated all drivers, Javascript, windows, et. all
Reinstalled Steam
Reinstalled Eve
Downloaded all new cache files
All I kept getting was it a “Port 26000” issue. I know what that is, but a little rusty on the fix,
I could not get to the launcher or log in to EVE account on website to get to forums to ask for help. I was in limbo waiting for CCP reply.
I fixed my problem temporarily, but it took me all day.
just been booted off socket closed, then trying to log back in had to refresh token and now all i get is
“could not connecty to login server!”
Its just eve, managed to log into 2 other mmo, and watching live tv streaming
whats going on?? anyone else just been booted.
Checking in from my trip in Japan. It appears that the IP address of my relatives also is refused.
From my investigations it looks like tje CCP authentication backend that reside on 87.237.34.* are using Verisign anti DDOS for protection.
https://supportauth.eveonline.com/ [87.237.34.116] which allows logging into support forum to file tickets and
https://login.eveonline.com [87.237.34.203] which allows logging into everything else (including the game) are behind this ddos firewall whch has blacklisted entire subnets.
Luckily I have roaming on my cel that is super slow but allows me to file a ticket. Originally I thought it may be my relatives router or ISP blocking 87.234.34.* so I checked the router and also contacted the ISP who said they don’t blacklist CCP ips or anything else for that matter.
So it appears we just have to wait and provide support with our IP and they can contact verisign anti ddos group to have our ips whitelisted. Hopefully they will have a better solution as it will be tedious for those of us that don’t have static IPs!
@East_PickleFarmer Good info , thank you.
P.S. I also tried to using my phone as a mobile hotspot using cell data (not just reconnected to wifi) during all of my issues and IT STILL didn’t work… So regional ISP blackouts may also extend to cell networks?
Just posting info to help others. o7
