What are you all so afraid of?
Who said anything about being afraid? We simply donât feel like your proposal is good.
If you did this, then you would know that after the first time you interfere, they just gank your âgood samratinâ ship over and over until you go away.
Accepting for the moment that there are not zero options, which of those would be negatively impacted by removal of security tags?
Udema always has more ready to warp in, it used to be so obvious with the lot of them anchored off the citadel flashing without a care in the world.
I have killed dozens of gankerâs ships during ganks to interfere with their business and they never successfully ganked me back. Maybe it helps to know what you are doing.
Iâve even linked a few of the killmails, you can check it yourself. All those kills have been made while the gankers had like 30+ accounts in fleet. Paying attention is the key.
You prevented a gank fleet of 30 ships from killing their target?
Yes. Multiple times. Not with Damage, but by bumping an engaged DST or Battleship with an 500MN Omen out of Catalyst Range.
One ship can obviously not stop 30 gankers by trying to killing some. Thats why I said all those killmails are âproof of conceptâ, any dedicated group of âantigankersâ could use it and if they match the gankerâs forces by like 1:3 theyâd definitely make ganks fail.
Also I saw anti-ganking groups like HighSec Guardians and some dedicated individuals stop ganks by jamming enough Catalysts.
You can try to argue and wiggle and accuse as much as you like, you nourish the impression to be someone who has a considerable lack of understanding how the combat mechanics in this game work and someone who just repeats hollow claims without any evidence. Keep on going, I suppose thats the reason nobody here takes you seriously and pretty much nobody is supporting your nerf-ideas.
Edit: ah, and of course I have baited Gankfleets larger than 30 ships into attacking a char of mine, failing horribly. Which meets the definition of âpreventing a fleet of 30 ships from killing a targetâ quite nicely. My personal record is at 54 catalysts wasted on one of my alts.
Having a wallet large enough to fund such a thankless task is key.
You guys need to stop thinking about the money in all aspects of the game. I spend like 95% of my time in the game aiding other people without getting a dime out of it. If you canât find like 20 people really commited to fight ganking - even without profits attached - the problem with ganking canât be that big.
And Griffins, Kitsunes, Oracles, bumping Punishers and Omens are absolutely affordable to anyone, even IF you lose some to being ganked yourselfe while messing around with the gankers. You antiganking guys could easily found a corp, running industrial projects and spit out money like mad and use those profits to fund anti-ganking fleets. But you donât. You rather complain that CCP should fix your âproblemâ by divine intervention.
Remove security status tokens as a tradable item and it will stop being about money.
No, using that kind of manpower to combat what will be one multiboxing troll would be a waste of time, they would just log off and watch ASCII pr0n and wait for us to go away.
With 20 people I would go run incursions or FW plexes, at least we would be doing something other than waiting for yellow flashy people.
Removing security status tokens will not impact ganking, only what happens after. The tokens allow the rich to avoid consequence and should be like any other NPC loot, redeemable for LP or ISK, not reputation or security status.
Then just do that and stop wasting your time being worried about ganking. As I said, the problem canât be that big if you arenât willing to commit your time to solving it.
You can remove them yourself, just buy them off the market and trash them. The traded volume isnât even that big that a group of veterans couldnât easily afford that. But you not only donât want to invest your time to âsolve the problemâ, you also donât want to invest your money to âsolve the problem.â
Cannot run incursions all day and its a PITA to pull rigs off my basilisk just to pack the whole things into a prowler just become some pratt in a destroyer with their pocket citadel fighters orbiting the gate manages to get a decloak a few times a year.
Spending time destroying the cookies is a waste, its the cookie factory that needs to be changes. Removal of the tags as a tradable item does nothing to harm ganking and everything to fix its P2W aspect.
That assumes these items are being traded on the open market. The tokens need to be soulbound to the character like activte ship skins and clothing.
Do you notice that anytime someone offers you a practical solution that would actually work if you would be willing to burden the effort or investment, your reply goes ânaah not worth itâ.
And at the same time you argue that the problem needs divine fixing. All you do is âshould be, could beâ and not moving a finger yourself. No wonder that your âproblemâ hasnât been fixed the way you want it to be fixed: becaus none of you move a finger. You all like to complain and not doing anything.
All indications are that with 20 people, you would remain docked up and cry on the forum. I donât think Iâve ever seen someone so acutely practiced in the art of terminal helplessness.
If ganking isnât âthat bigâ, why do so many of you fight tooth and nail to keep it in its present form?
You cling to it as if itâs the only thing you can do in the game. (Shoot defenseless targets)
Big men, you areâŠ
We donât, we just point out when stupid ideas are stupid. And I donât even gank, nor do like 90% of the others who positioned themselves against those repeated ganking-nerf ideas in disguise.
Maybe itâs time to realize a few things:
- you are part of a minority, almost nobody likes your ideas to change the game further into a hellokittyland where people can idle afk all day long without any danger
- you show a considerable lack of experience when it comes to combat mechanics and tactics in general and ganking/antiganking gameplay in particular
- you are too lazy and/or too uncreative and/or too poor to do anything about it yourself, despite the game offering you many chances to do so. Which moves you into a position of being entitled to absolutely nothing. Probably that is why you canât even raise the smallest amount of support for your cause
Case closed.
The last time I ganked anything in highsec was during Hulkageddon IV.
I just think ganking is part of a healthy Eve ecosystem, and that the people who complain about it are whiny babies.
you realize the security tags are drops from very specific npcs in lowsec?
it takes time and effort to farm these tagsâŠand dedication with the numbers of them on the marketâŠif you wanted to change the cookie factoryâŠyou would not be here on the forumsâŠyou would be created a group to go hunt the farmers of these tags and stopping them at their source.
Exactly that. Gather 20 like minded people, assign everyone a corner of LowSec and create some specific fits that can kill these Clone Soldiers extremely fast. Either collect the tags and keep them stored or outright destroy the wrecks to make sure they cannot enter the market.
In the background all those 20 people can run pretty much effortless indu-jobs, simple stuff that sells with a guaranteed profit. Easy reactions or something, hauling and selling can even be centralized by the âOrganizationâ.
From these profits you buy off whatever remaining tags enter the market, continuously. Prices for them will skyrocket.
VoilĂĄ, ganking now became considerably more expensive.
- more targets will be spared
- less people will gank
Which means the few that will still gank can easier be tracked down and harassed with jammers or DPS ships, bumped, or baited until they give up.
Hey, we just gave antigankers a blueprint for creating the so-much-wantedâą AntiGanking HeroCoalition. Now they only would need to gather together, raise some funds to start and get going. But I estimate they will find other excuses for not doing anything. ![]()
