Resource Redistribution Update

It wasn’t. It was part of a planned ‘we’ll do this, and then come back and fix the other bits of it later once we figure out how’. But, just like everything else… CCP forgot to come back and finish the frikkin’ job.

Let’s play 4D chess ? And start to regroup player to send an analysis of how they will kill eve? Like when some player send message to PA during blackout… and magic make end of blackout suddently few day after ?

I m ok for it.

They are certainly doing a good job of milking that udder dry

I thought you brought up some good points, but I’m not so sure I agree with your thoughts on increasing destruction. Personally, I think one of the reasons why we don’t see more destruction at the bloc level is because bloc level FC’s are relatively disciplined and so risk adverse. Now, I’m not saying they’re terrible, or cowards, just that they aren’t incentivized to take fights that are stacked against them. Losses hurt morale, can raise prices and put strain on their industrial backbone, and even hurt their ability to wage war. On the other hand, giving the enemy blue balls can actually diminish their fleet sizes over the long term.

Thus, I’m not so sure that making mainline ships squishier will have the desired effect. It might make them even more risk averse, and even when they take fights, FC’s are still going to try to bounce as soon they can no longer overcome enemy reps.

I’m not sure what the solution is, but I’m not so confident that more fragile ships will increase destruction.

Good job CCP by destorying game again i tell you what’s going to change in the game

Les players going to play eve online
More miners going to switch to Ratting
More players going te cheat
No more big battle because more miners losing there ships
Captial rorqual is lost ships no more for use

CCP think before you act

Oh no, it was total BS, their reasons had holes in it you could drive a truck through, much like Quantum Cores. I’m Indy, but in combat, I’m logi, plus i worked as a senior tech for Apple support for a decade, i know self-serving BS when i see it

It was because of the design mistake of adding 1v1 instanced PvP. In 1v1 ECM was a you win button.

Which is why no other game developers are ignorant enough to balance 1v1.

Indeed.

This plan is a perfectly reasonable one that many people have suggested, and also one that CCP has telegraphed is coming. Have each region produce unique materials that they have to trade is a totally fine idea.

Now, sure, maybe the balance is off in particular place and CCP will have to adjust yields or amounts available but the basic concept is sound. It was dumb that everyone could produce everything where they lived. It is much more interesting and vibrant if players are forced to trade and move items. So ok, if you can’t make a living anymore doing your favourite activity (like mining) then CCP has screwed up the implementation. But seriously, if you are just upset that every single resource isn’t infinitely renewable on your doorstep and you can’t source all the materials for your end-to-end supply change in your home system, I don’t have much sympathy for you.

This should never have been possible. Yes, this is a problem of CCP’s creation, but it really needs to be addressed for the betterment of the game. Players should be forced to trade and specialize in an interesting economic game, not be able to make and produce everything locally.

Now everywhere has a niche and the market will help sort out some of the problems inherent in different resources gathering mechanics and risks that exist between the sectors of space.

I’m no white-knight for CCP and have been more that willing to call them out in the past on their poor design choices, but this one is clearly intended to make the economic game better. It is the complete opposite of many of their last choices over the last 5 years which transparently were moves to make the game easier and give players everything to try to sell PLEX and subscriptions. Kudos to CCP for making an unpopular change they really believe will make the game better in the long run.

At least listen to their reasons before you let your self-interest blind you to the bigger picture: Twitch

See ya there in 2.5h.

Can’t say I agree with any of these changes

Skill injectors, followed by the citadel patch(major capital overbuffs), followed by mining rorquals, all of these changes were done in short succession in what appears to be an attempt to fuel microtransaction traffic for profit. Here we are years later trying to deal with the damage created by it and the changes are being made in ways that will give the playerbase whiplash, and likely costing subscribers in the process.

You know they make ECCM, right? If i choose to add 3 Heat Sinks to my ship of more DPS, rather than 2 Heat Sinks and an ECCM and get jammed out, that’s on me. Plus, Auto-targeting missiles, Smartbombs and Drones, don’t care about that (a simply IF check to drones can make the act like auto-targeting missiles). But they never addressed the imbalance between Warp screams and Warp stabs, when addressing “the feeling of helplessness”, i can give other examples if you like

the word forced isn’t accurate that is a negative interpretation and meaning OP applied to needed changes in a games sandbox environment. CCP can’t force the hand of its subscribers.

:red_circle:

That is bovine waste. Sourcing the materials to produce things locally has been possible for well over 12 years and it never was an issue because for the most part the tools to farm them were balanced. The availability only became an issue when CCP unreasonably buffed the tools to extract resources and added more resources for the sake of “active gameplay”. The availability of resources is not the issue. It’s CCP’s incompetence to doe the right thing with ships to extract resources and their illguided idea that more active gameplay is better. Both opinions backfired spectacularly, CCP never bothered to address them when they had the chances to minimize the damage and now everything gets screwed over.

Lol.

Do you realize how much control has over the game universe? They control everything from how well your ships works, to where and how resources spawn, to how much taxes/fees you pay.

CCP control everything, and their constant management is the only reason we have a function game and economy after 17 years. CCP ain’t perfect, but to claim they shouldn’t be active stewards of the game is ludicrous.

You can and should call them out for choosing profits or expediency over good game play. However, you should give them a chance to explain why they are making certain changes. You still can decide you don’t want to play of course, but it is pretty silly to not hear out their rationale before you decide something is “bad”.

Sometimes bitter tasting medicine is needed. It is much easier to swallow if the doctor gives you the reason that you should take it, rather than making that decision based on the taste alone.
