A public speech by Minate Michael to the people of the Precursor AI research center.

Dear citizens.

I am making this speech in response to the Gallente Federation’s declassification of documents regarding a potential Drifter attack in order to inform you of the measures we will be taking to protect you. Firstly, while it is understandable to fear for your lives and those of your loved ones please do not panic and do your best to remain calm and not cause trouble because of your fears. Secondly, the colony government is taking this news very seriously and we are working with Taayusaka Eskeitan to prepare defenses in case of an attack and if necessary, we will shelter civilians in the underground bunkers that have been built to protect you in the event of an attack. We will also be conducting evacuation, shelter and defense drills to prepare you and combat personnel for a potential attack.

I also take this opportunity to contest the Sanmatar’s comments that the federation is “fostering panic”, even though they have mainly attacked the Circle lately it is possible that there will be collateral victims or that they will start harvesting biomass as they did during their invasion of nullsec space in YC121. The criticism of these comments by Thukker chief Ennar Aeboul is in my opinion much more appropriate, the Drifters are a serious threat and any suspicion of a new attack on their part must also be taken seriously. I hope that the Sanmatar will understand the urgency of the situation and will make the necessary and good decisions to protect the Minmatar people.

It has also been said by President Celes Aguard that the Deathless Circle is responsible for the awakening of the Drifters, I consider that this hypothesis is likely true and that the recent rise of Drifter activity is further proof of its danger and the importance that it would be necessary to defeat them as quickly as possible to restore a semblance of order in our already too chaotic cluster.

We will continue the surveillance operations of the Drifter systems but also organize more of them and in the most efficient way possible, the research on the AIs of their drones will also be done in a more intensive way in order to obtain a maximum of information to protect you and assist the republic as well as the international community and the rest of the cluster. The studies carried out on atavums, new patterns of Drifter patrols and on the AIs of their drones are at the time I speak to you already publicly released in order to give a maximum of information possible to as many people as possible.

You have also noticed that the constellation of Viriette is currently the target of a Sansha incursion, we will therefore also reinforce the protection of the scouting teams that will monitor Drifter movements and behavior.

In news today which has sent ripples of anger through many employees of Mastir Reborn Technologies inc(MR-TI) it has come to local attention that MR-TI has recently opened offices at Harroule VIII - Moon 5 - FedMart Storage. These offices have, from what we have been informed, been set up with the specific intention of creating a staging point for employees before they are transported further to MHC-R3 and the Windflare Orbital Ring.

The anger is due to the blatant discrimination of MR-TI in its choice of workers for this deployment. From all the sources we have been able to contact only augmented workers have been deployed. It should be noted those selected have been asked to agree to further procedures to install molecular repulsion field implants within there throats and nasal passages, with the stated purpose of ensuring that workers are immune to any dangerous airborne pathogens.

This author would suggest that if you are potentially putting your workers into a situation where they may come into contact with dangerous airborne pathogens maybe don’t put those workers in that kind of position.

Union leaders have announced that this obvious act of discrimination is a step too far. Many unions had already been considering action due to the Employee “Self Improvement” Scheme, so it seems like there may be strikes in MR-TI’s future if they can’t get back to acting in the interest of their employees.

We did reach out to MR-TI and were simply given this statement.

While we respect our employees opinions and are always open to criticism we would advise all to act carefully and not jump to action. MR-TI takes its position as an employer seriously and always endeavours to put its employees first when considering potential personnel deployments.

The presence of law enforcement in civilian areas as well as the intensity of surveillance of Drifter systems and research on their drone AIs will be reduced.

Emergency constructions are complete and the new anti-Drifter defense system that was recently built is now operational.

The Colonial Government also wishes to address criticism of our directives to reinforce security during the high alert state that have rekindled controversies over our “intrusive” security and surveillance doctrine.

The Technocratic Council understands your opinions and concerns but its position remains the same as before: these measures are necessary because this colony also remains a center of scientific and military research and therefore a target for spies and other agents of hostile and dangerous factions. Alparena Under Siege as Federal Authorities Rail Against Threat of Warclone Insurgency

Federal Intelligence Office outposts in Alparena III have faced a slew of bombings and assassinations following the Caldari State Protectorate achieving local space superiority. The attacks are believed to have been carried out by the Torchbearers of Liberty rebel group in reprisal for targeted counter-insurgency operations conducted by the Special Department of Internal Investigations. Prior to the counteroffensive SDII claimed to have eliminated two-thirds of the Torchbearers of Liberty leadership, and were closing in on key financiers providing material support to the organization. With the Caldari State’s strategic breakthrough, however, counterinsurgency operations stalled long enough for the Torchbearers of Liberty to consolidate around their remaining leadership-- soldiers who the SDII consider to be the most ideologically disciplined and well equipped cadre who were able to resist or evade previous attempts to depose them. Central to this “axis of terror” is OBJECTIVE BACKWASH, a warclone and professional agent provocateur previously identified by the Republic Security Service and Expert Intervention thought to have assumed local leadership under the employ of former Lieutenant Sentinel Naliana Rouram.

SDII believes that BACKWASH may be exploiting warclone infomorph architecture to evade identification. Unlike capsuleer cloning methods, warclone fifth-lobe implants do not rely on burn scans that create an identifiable neural map nor leave a DNA footprint in clones they inhabit. Warclone ‘combat blanks’ are manufactured en masse with no personally identifiable features, while personalized ‘leisure clones’ are a relatively recent development custom built to roughly approximate the warclone’s baseline appearance. These “off-duty clones” are often created by independent warclone groups, can be easily modified or forged to assume a new likeness, and remain unregulated unlike CONCORD-issued capsuleer Resculpt Certificates. Previous generations of combat blanks even lacked specific gender assignment to streamline logistics, though this was changed later after reports of extreme dysphoria negatively impacting combat effectiveness. According to Federal Intelligence forensic pathologist Parth en Tiwari, this effect was not universal with some subjects displaying a greater degree of “egoplasticity” for short durations-- particularly with the aid of C3-fullero-tris-methanodicarboxylic acid boosters. While the political battle surrounding this incident continues to rage, the situation on the ground has decidedly turned against the FIO’s favor. With the planet under orbital blockade and cut off from substantial relief, Torchbears of Liberty and allied rebel groups continue to hammer away at Federal government strongholds across Alparena. So embattled are the urban industrial areas that the local planetary governor’s office has hinted at a willingness to accept relief from independent capsuleer groups to assist in stabilizing the crisis.

The state of emergency has been lifted and we are back on low alert.

All residents must nevertheless prepare for a potential attack and therefore to be deployed if they are combatants or to flee to underground shelters if they are non-combatants.

We also ask you not to panic and to remain civil. It has been noticed that some citizens of the colony were in a state of panic following the announcement of how the Drifters were treating their prisoners and tried to force their way into the shelters without being ordered to do so. While this is understandable to act like this during these uncertain and stressful times, it is important to respect the law and other residents as well as the organization of emergency measures.

I obtained three packs of Restrict Hyperspace Telemetry after destroying a Deathless research outpost. I was unable to retrieve any Circle survivors for interrogation.

The Commander has asked several of his contacts to provide him with as many remains of corrupted rogue drones emanating from the Deepflow rifts as possible in order to begin new research on them and their intelligence described as “unfathomable” and “beyond human understanding”.

Some of you will be able to do research on them, it is possible that new researchers will also be recruited if there are not enough personnel for this.

Research on these drones will begin after the end of the Drifter crisis, for now it is requested that as many people as possible work on the sleeper drones whose remains are recovered, especially those involved in the attacks on the empires at this very moment.

Volunteers will also be sought among the inhabitants of the PAIRC and military medics from the PAIRC and the Main Research Center will also be assigned to these missions.
