I haven’t bought one yet but I was rather hoping that we could use the new ships for mining but it appears looking at them that the large hold won’t be able to store ore, is that right?

The large infrastructure hold isn’t for ore.

These Upwell ships can hold all sorts of materials related to Upwell structures (structures themselves, cores, fuel blocks), deployables, planetary products, ice products and moon products.
