The Hunt for Komi Valentine is Over!

Clearly, some are caught in a landslide.

Archer isn’t RPing though, if he was, this would all be hunky-dorey.

Yes, as a grown up is exactly how you’re comporting yourself. :joy:

It wasn’t even a very good insult. I guess you just don’t have an actual counterpoint. Too bad.

Responding to the OP is a lot more engaging than you, that’s all, I’m sorry.

Does that make me an apologist now?

No. That’s not what apologist means.

But you are an apologist. Defending how a CSM candidate shouldn’t have to follow the same rules as other players. Discussing an unpatched exploit on the forums before reporting it through the correct channels. Even discussing it at all on the forums.

So yes. You’re an apologist. And you know it. And that’s why your response is this schoolyard dismissal that everyone can see for what it is.

Haven’t said anything about them not having to follow the same rules, just been saying that it’s a cool gimmick is all. But, ok.

(First of all, I want to say I appreciate you being very civil, level headed, and rational :+1:)

See, this is the problem. Running for CSM requires that we players are educated about the OOC candidate. RP-only is not an option. “Talk to me in private” is not an option. When a CSM candidate presents themselves (ie. their platform), they are required to break out of character and present their views on EVE and their positions on things they look to change and how they plan on changing them. Failure to do so is a zero campaign… or in Komi’s case 100% egomania and dollhouse play becomes a subzero campaign. I have the right to judge because this is what has been officially presented to me. At this point, if a new contender shows up and their first post showed a picture of a rat’s anus, I literally would still regard that contender higher than Komi at this point because however distasteful that is, they have not polarized me by egomania and refusal to OOC to discuss CSM-relevent concerns. I am not obligated to get to know Komi in any fashion other than how she has portrayed herself in her official CSM campaign thread and via forum/reddit activity (which, in terms of CSM platforms, is likewise non-existent outside of RP).

It is 100% unreasonable for EVE players to vote on a candidate based 100% on their RP personality and then magically expect them to be competent OOC. Komi has neither demonstrated EVE competency in RP or OOC, or even that Komi is a smart person in general. To the contrary, Komi has demonstrated much incompetency and naivete and slowness; the talk show interview further reinforced this impression upon us all, along with filling in the details of complete and total inexperience with EVE (Komi’s posts about her corp likewise demonstrate toddler-level experience). This solidifies the case that Komi is unfit for office. This is not a personality or popularity contest. There are several people in EVE that I have known for years, that I would play “the trust game” with in giving them hundreds of billions of assets expecting them to give it back to me, that I find to be extremely personable and that are orders of magnitude more qualified than Komi (which isn’t saying much) that I would never consider voting for because they do not have the merits to run for CSM. CSM candidates should be elected on merits and nothing else. Komi does not have any merits on which to run. If I asked you to enumerate them in great detail, you would be unable to do so, and you know this to be true, so I will not ask you to do so. And even if Komi somehow did have the merits, frankly it’s too late to share them, because her campaign is already shot to hell by failing to take it seriously in the first place. Per my previous paragraph, CSM campaigns require expressing actual platforms and OOC positions, which Komi was 100% refusing to do despite NUMEROUS inquires. The opportunity to do so has forfeit, as has her life so as to end both the travesty of a CSM campaign and the gratuitous egomania.

Anywhere the wind blows.

On topic: I hope she gets voted into the CSM. It is exactly what the CSM deserves.

I’ve both read and heard you ser, while I don’t quite have the energy right now to respond decently, I will say that I think you put too much faith in the CSM in general by what you write.

Take it easy and please, if you’re going to spark a vendetta like this against Komi, just try and keep it RP/IC, not only would they love it, but so many others would too, make a story worth telling out of this rather than “angry man sparks bounty-bonanza on CSM applicant.”

They’re a lot more innocently minded OOCly about all this than you may think, call it naivety if you wish.

I’m sorry, I can’t see the CSM as being strictly RP. and due to her comments that her qualifications are not up for debate, as well as what was said during the station interview, yea, she needs put down.

Should I feel concerned that this whole thing makes no sense to me?

read her CSM 15, then listen to the talk in station interview that “her representative” was just on…

But why would any of that matter? Are you worried that she might be elected? Or that CCP would allow her to be in the CSM if she’s breaking any rules?

And you expect to be able to decide whether someone biomasses or not, and hence be able to get rid of her against her will, by podding her in game?

I don’t understand…
