Where are the positive changes though?

A game (and by extention: the game) is not about making me happy. Its about achieving an ultimate end goal. Its basically buy a titan, get into it, undock - thats it, roll the credits, i can finally uninstall this bloody game. What else there to do?

lol
thats why we cant have nice things

Yes but certainly allusions have been made to how breaking up that route was going to shake things up. Seriously, references have been made to just that in this thread. Sorry, call me cynical but I don’t buy the whole “player driven actions creating permanent New Eden change” narrative.

Well, maybe it won’t make you happy. But someone else, perhaps. Again, this whole devaluation of “other” playing styles gets stale, like quickly.

If things were intended to be any different then the game industry shouldn’t have been conditioning for 40 some years that there is always a penultimate result a player must achieve: kill that guy, finish that quest, do that thing, et cetera.

Okey dokey . . . proceed then . . .

You might want to look this word up.

i see your point
but eve is supposed to different
its all about the little stuff
like putting a smile on the face of that female character bearded fat lonely guy

You might want to argue with that guy who insisted on using the word “decimated” for total devastation.

But yes. You are right, there is no end goal. Its just another cruel, pointless, meaningless existence, just like the real life. Why am i even paying for this game when i can have all the same content with no additioal fee?! Oh my, you’re so right. :scream: I’m wasting my time when i could’ve been playing ff14 all along!

The lazy sloth catches the lowest leafs.

Or, in other words …

When the masses don’t require quality …
… then the masses don’t deserve quality.

Or, even more direct:

When it’s easy to bait the masses into doing the same things over and over and over and over and over and over again …
… then it would be foolish not to make them do the same things over and over and over and over again …
… when that’s an easy way for parting fools of their money.

Just like Taylor Swift’s music …
… is it not about quality …
… but about triggering the right parts of your brain.

■■■■ all that noise.
I’m glad CCP aims to be better than that.

reading through this thread really made me sad. the only remaining good mmo is changing to another replaceable game like everything else on the market. I felt it for some time already but reading through this really cxonfirmed my feeling that ccp wants different people to play their game. well, i am already old and probably don’t live long enough to feed ccp employees up to their retirement so i understand they need to cater for younger players, however, i really hoped they don’t leave their core game design.

Obviously, ccp doesn’t care.

Positive chances since i started in 2010… hmmm, difficult. Actually not a single one comes to mind.

Bad changes… a lot! most of them i could cope with but the instanced pvp nowadays maybe is the change that will actually stop me continue playing mmo’s.

/me wipes tears from eyes…

…but I don’t want to stop, I actually liked the game :frowning:

Surely the Thera expansion was a good one. No?

Never said it did, sport.

I just prefer my games to be games.

Scoots,
it may not be as ‘good for the game’ as you think…
a rash of changes to sodomize the folks who want to mine, or do industry, etc, because it ‘makes it more fun for those who do the sodomizing’ isn’t actually ‘good for the game’
what happens are all the folks who are ‘I want to do X, and not do PVP Combat so I make the choice to -not- go to the dangerous areas’ who are now told "well, tough sht… you are gonna be forced to do what you don’t like, so this other crowd can have their fun’ just say, well, nope… c-ya…
what you are left with is all those who like to do the sodomizing with nothing but each other or NPC’s to work on, and at that point, how is PVP any different than PVE?

No, not alone. It’s so bad I can’t even decide whether to liquidate my assets or not.

Maybe I will liquidate them on Dec 25… pack (almost) everything in a Bowhead and set a route to destruction.

It’s so bad that I can’t be bothered to even think about it.

A twisty way of looking at it. I said 10 years. Have a look. https://eve-offline.net/?server=tranquility

And this is despite hordes of free to plays and CCP massaging the figures with free skill points to log in.

All of the recent changes are significant buffs to smart and ambitious industry/mining players. Only low-skill and/or lazy players are hurt by them.

You won’t, but it’s a nice thought for the rest of us.
