yeah youre probably right … i was thought about a ganking char but they rather dont care of killrights or they dont want to have one if they want to sit in a nado on gates.
Has anyone ever used a kill right?
Should do it, it’s fun, and if done right the first time, also a learning experience, muahahaha.
They still do that ?! lol. The counter should be well known by now…
Also ccplease: FIX THE BOUNTY SYSTEM - and the "WANTED signs while you’re at it. And the mug shots we used to see streaming on every screen. Thank you !!
all day long …
there is no bounty system ! bounty got removed years ago !
the “wanted” sign is the -10 sec status
My reply was about whether people use it or not, which clearly they do as around half of the KRs are used (sometimes even if in the end it expires, like when the target successfully escapes).
You now change the subject but still ignore the countless successfull KR sales in that very thread anyway by only quoting an expired KR so clearly your argument is not genuine because clearly as around half the KRs are sold it means people use it.
Now about extending the length, as people use them as is if more time was given more people would use it and targets would have less opportunity to evade hunters. Would it be balanced? That is a completely separate subject altogether.
Some examples:
- Some people are null / low / wh dwellers thus KR doesn’t matter that case (rarely still get activated to avoid gate gun fire and/or standings loss when attacking them)
- Some people hide in the above listed areas for the duration of the KR thus if it was not time limited they couldn’t evade being hunted in hisec that way
- Some people just don’t sign in to that specific character for the duration so the above applies to that as well
- Some people use an expendable alt (biomass after the fact) or an alt that doesn’t undock (trader) for the occasion (the answer to why is in the OP of the thread where I mention how I earn almost all of these killrights, these are not from gank attempts and are rarely if ever are from ganker characters) thus wouldn’t change much those cases
Just some examples how the KRs in my thread would be used even more if were not time limited.
Some of these are specific to my specific method of acquiring the killrights while others listed above can apply to gankers (like if they are mainly low / null / wh dwellers but occasionally gank in hisec as well).
Personally I don’t care either way as it seems balanced as is.
However as the discussion involves whether KRs would be used more if they were not time limited or if they were extended then personally it seems clear to see that they would (in general or in other words many cases would be).
lol, right. Good exercise for the cubs: from tornado to tournedos in one go.
correction: it was not “removed”, it was temporarily halted years ago “until we gather more data”. My guess is that it was one way to make the TiDi system work better. Still, the bounty system was a nice to have, added some spice too, and it’s always fun to get some “chaching” for your hard work - even pressing F1 on time can be stressing under heavy TiDi, lmao.
Nah. I mean the Wanted sign that came with any bounty on someone… From the bounty system that was “temporarily halted” (see above) in order to collect more data to see the effect on …
nvm
Some lost soul thought it scared the new kids away in rookie channel. The data don’t seem to support that - who would have thunk.
its still got removed ? oO does not mean it dont come back again … but i assume it never came back again !
you mean … "if the bounty is high enough i kill myself with an alt and collect it by myself " ?
It seems the only viable solution to avoid abuse of this system is to have the kill right be executed solely by the victim. No selling of kill rights.
Nope, Let them be sold off. You can kill whom you want, you can scam who you want. There are consequences for your actions. Its why most of the Scammers use fake names. Its why most of the “pirates” who actually fear people just hide.
Also Selling allows Bounty hunters, which I doubt any will do it that much. I mean to be fair if the bounty is high enough the player will just use a alt to merc themselves.
I personally love the Ultima Online system (For Pre-T2A). Kill enough people, you get a bounty, players can put the bounty on you (any amount of money) if you have enough kills you just lose skill points if you die. Might help stop people from using an Alt but I am sure someone will abuse that system some how too.
The ability to sell them or make them public available is one of their best features. It actually is the one reason they are somehow useful at all. The system would even work a lot better if more people would make them available for a reasonable price. I personally make all of them public for just 1 million ISK, which leads to the situation that either the gankers pay me with some alt or someone is actually using it to remove a ganker from the gate if the opportunity occurs.
zkill shows you’re mistaken . in fact they were ganking in the same system the next day , and active all month .
if it takes you longer than a month to get your courage up , let it go , or sell the kr as some suggest .
I added them to my contacts so I would have heads up as to when they were on. I never saw them on everytime I logged in which was at least once a day. If zkill says different then I don’t know.
contacts has to be mutual to show when a char is online . this was implemented many years ago .
locator agents will not give location of off-line chars , either .
zkill is a useful intel tool and you’d do well to use it , as it has neither of these limitations .
Well
I didn’t know that. So there is no in-game mechanic to tell when someone has logged on? Should include those on your kill-rights list.
Thanks for the info.
Yeah, this “login stalking” was disabled a long time ago, because it would actually be abused for intel purposes. These days both have to agree to see their online status.
Yeah. I feel stupid now.
When someone had a bounty, irregardless to the amount, their character portrait had “WANTED” at the bottom of the picture
oh yeah i start to remember about it
