Gun salute

I think you are wrong. Remember the insurance poll?

The poll where the questions were asked in such a suggestive way that anyone who could think of insurance improvements would vote in favour of your completely different point of view, which then got a grand total of 15 votes and thus was not representative for any conclusion at all even if the questions and answers had been written well?

Yea, I remember that one. It was a good example of Bakster posting.

It was interesting how you were the second one to respond and acting like insurance is great even tho you probably dont know anyone that likes it. And then the votes starting coming in and 61% voted no. And now you are trying to discredit the poll?

I and others already explained in multiple other posts why that poll wasn’t useful.

Besides the lacklustre participation resulting in a very unrepresentative number of ‘15 people of all EVE players!’, a big mistake of that poll is that you concluded that anyone who was unhappy with how insurance in EVE works also agreed with you that insurance should be deleted, thereby including all of the players who wanted insurance to be improved rather than deleted.

The lack of logic you show would almost be funny if you weren’t serious.

Some people apply such mental gymnastics maliciously to further their own agenda, and assume or hope that others won’t see it. In your case I think it’s simply incompetence though.

Considering the political nature of the forum its surprising that 61% voted they dont like the insurance mechanic but its not surprising that the delusional pundits are trying to discredit the results

Why are you even talking about the insurance poll in an unrelated thread?

I think you are wrong. Remember the insurance poll?

Are you really trying to show that “because Gerard was wrong at the insurance poll he also is wrong in this other unrelated discussion”?

Even in the hypothetical scenario where the poll results indeed meant that the majority of people indeed wanted insurance to be deleted and that I was wrong, this does not logically lead to the conclusion that I am wrong here too.

Why are you even trying to use such a flawed argument?

You were acting like players wont like gun salutes but the insurance poll shows you are out of touch with the players

15 players? 15 votes out of thousands doesn’t mean he is or isn’t out of touch, especially since his alliance helps new players..

There was more than 15 people that voted and the outcome wasnt changing as votes came in

You don’t speak for a majority of people though. Neither does anyone else. We all have our own environments that we live in. We can say though that majority of people who have responded to this thread do not think gun salutes needs to change, especially since it will take away from other things CCP may be working on.

I think i will add that to the bingo card. “Will require work to implement”

That is not what I said, I said that it will take work away from other things CCP is working on.

Same thing

It’s not though, CCP has a finite amount of work they can do. It’s not unlimited. That work required to implement something that so far only 2 people have said would be cool, could be better spent pleasing more people.

What do you think the insinuation is when someone responds to an idea with “This will require work to implement”

Everything requires work…

Which is why its kind of stupid to argue an idea is bad because it requires work to implement. No offense.

Go run around the block for my amusement then.

It’s stupid because only .0000001% of the player base would use it…

But when they do it will be awesome
