I’m not aware if communications can be configured to not blink and I may do it at some point that I don’t remember. But I received emails and they blinked normally so it was just the entry in the structure topic inside communications.
Anyhow, I don’t consider that text enough important/detailed to understand what was about to happen or how fast it can happen…
did you look in your assets to see if you actually have stuff in asset safety. it takes 5 days for it to be placed in asset safety, to which you have 15 days after that to access it.
Assuming the structure was not blown up, it should have gone into safety if the structure unanchored regardless of abandoned or not I think? (unless in Wormhole Space where it will drop, without a lossmail). You should check safety tab in assets window.
sure, but the point was, if you biomassed as resonanceofwar, then resonanceofwar cannot come back to the forums, even though you may come back as another alt…
there’s several folks you can tell who are alts of other characters on the forums.
I thought everyone on the forum is an alt of a single powerful pilot with many supers, trillions of ISK, whose friend is a powerful alliance leader, who has tons of merc contracts, and is respected and feared by all the people that were in BoB and are in Goons and etc.
We’re just the same guy conversing and bickering with himself for a very elaborate ruse.
Wow! Thank You for replying! I never had people in these threads reply back. Hope you read my comment
Of course, you don’t have to pay for EVE. I only ever subbed for about 3 months when starting out. After that been plexing for about 4 years now on 2 mains. I haven’t given CCP money for a long time now.
My first comment still holds true. Many MMO’s including EVE always draw back people. I could pull so many threads of people coming back after years. I know people who don’t even play but still follow their corp’s EVE mails and EVE developments. Noone truly quits. They take breaks and come back. The people who TRUELY quit in my book at least are the people who biomass and post pictures to prove it.
Isn’t it like as long as you have the session / cookie / whatever up you just come to the forum and you are signed in and only if you are signed off / session expired will have to sing in again (through the CCP authentication portal) at which point the system will see the character was biomassed thus unable to select it?
I ask because of two things:
I keep signed on on this character and barely any other for the sole reason I have to sign in on the authentication portal and choose character to switch which resets my settings on the forum (like last used emotes are erased and such) and also because I check my EVEmail using a third party website and to quickly get in I stay signed in on this account at the authentication portal but have to switch account there if I want to check EVEmails of a different character on a different account which is “tiresome” (yes am just lazy ).
Someone mentioned the past year or so in a thread that he sold his character but he can still write on the forums with it, meaning the system seems to only check the validity of the sign in when you authenticate through the related CCP portal (though maybe that is a different scenario not sure).
Am too lazy to test this just thought I mention this as maybe as long as the session / cookie / whatever is still in effect even a biomassed character can post. Because the authentication into the website (forum) seem to be not directly attached to the CCP authentication portalonly at sign in you are required to authenticate at the portal but after that you just visit the forums (and even if you switch account or sign off at the authentication portal if I recall correctly you are still signed in on the forums until you specifically sign off from the forums so I think the two have separate session IDs / tokens or whatever).
No evidence either way just a theoretical possibility but dunno how it works exactly.
Yea I agree with Brisc his/her char alone is worth like 200-500b not in cost to sell but in cost to rebuild it, also all that knowledge is not lost. Getting back into the game is not that bad even starting from 0 isk, 2 to 3 months of farm is plenty to get to a really good spot (multi billions).
People who are throwing around the “just start over again, you didn’t lose everything!” are missing the point.
Imagine you put your money into a bank. Then one day you go to the bank to make a withdrawal, and they tell you that unfortunately your money is no longer there because they decided to invest all of their deposits into NFTs, which immediately lost their value, so all the money is gone. You could sue the bank, but they have nothing left, so it’s not like you’d get anything out of that anyway, and would just waste your money on lawyers. So you go to the government, which normally secures banks to some extent, to try to get your funds through some kind of centralized insurance program. But they tell you that unfortunately this is no longer in the budget, and they made a press release on a Tuesday three years ago announcing the closure of the program. You don’t watch the news regularly, so you missed it.
Now, I know that this is an unrealistic scenario, but that’s not the point. The point is when you, in a distressed state and at no fault of your own start expressing frustration with what happened to your entire life savings, everyone around you starts telling you to “cheer up, at least you still have your healthy body! you can just start over again and work your way up from scratch! it will be fun!”
If I were the judge presiding over the following mass-murder trial, I’d probably excuse the defendant for the killing spree.
What type of structure was it?
Where was this structure?
How much isk value did you loose?
Where you away from the game during this period or playing actively and just didn’t see the mail?
Maybe you can link the structure loss mail if your items are not inside the km then maybe its somewhere else.
