Next time we update Singularity, we’ll have a few new little things/quality of life changes that we’d like your help with testing
Many of those changes were suggested and requested by you guys, in our “little things” threads and various other channels.
Please feel free to head over to that thread to suggest your own little things idea, but if you have comments on the changes introduced here, please post them in this thread
Tooltips have been added to number edit fields. If the entered amount is above 10k, there will be a tooltip that writes out the amount to help you quickly realize the order of magnitude of the number (so you don’t sell your 2b module for 2m)
The tooltips have also been added to a few handpicked numbers, such as the total in the Sell Item window and the total in the Buy window (for single item).
A new type of Radial menu has been added. It is in the shade of the fleet color you have set on your client, to help you differentiate it from the normal radial menu.
It’s activated with a shortcut that set in the ESC window > General.
The Broadcasting Radial Menu has selected broadcasts that can be activated on other items (Target, Warp, Align to) as well as other broadcasts (Heal shield, heal armor, heal cap) that can be activated when clicking in empty space or on your own ship.
the Broadcast Radial Menu takes into account the broadcast delay, and an option in the menu is not available unless it can be used.
The white color in the color picker in text fields is now the same as the default text color.
The ‘item type’ field in 'Wallet>Transactions’ is now wider and has a ‘Clear’ button.
The ‘Member’ field in ‘Corporation Wallet>Transaction’ now has a ‘Clear’ button.
A text filter has been added to the LP store.
Alliances are now autolinkable in chat like Corporations, Solarsystems, etc.
Number of days in corp has been added in the ‘Employment history’ tab.
Custom Offices now have a proper right click options.
The ‘Message’ field when adding contacts is now disabled unless you have the ‘Send notification’ checkbox checked (as many people have mistaken it for adding a personal note to characters they set standing to… awkward ).
The ship name in ‘Fitting management windows’ is now a link to the info for the ship type.
When a pilot invites you to fleet, the message you get will include a link to that character’s info.
It’s now possible to copy/paste blueprint info from the ‘Industry’ window.
Items can now be dragged into the market search field, as well as to the filter in inventory windows.
The ‘Days to Complete’ box when creating ‘Courier contracts’ is now a bit wider.
The ‘Selected Item’ info on Stargates now includes a color coded security status of the destination system.
Pilot and ship images in the ‘Selected Item’ window are now draggable and can be dragged and dropped to chat.
Is it at all possible to make it so that you can drop items in the market data section of the market window (where prices and locations are displayed)? This would be a whole lot more convenient than trying to drop it in the tiny text box. This works already in the industry window where you can drop a BP anywhere and the window loads it.
I could obviously just wait until I can test it but what do you mean by that? My standard radial menu is already in the colors I set for my game (dark blue/black for inactive tiles, lighter blue for interactive tiles and very light blue for highlighted tiles). What is different with this radial menu? Or can we set custom colors for this radial menu? That would be neat.
And when can we expect a radial menu to work on broadcasts in the fleet window or in the personal asset window, among other things?
The text filter in the LP store is a really, really useful thing and being able to link alliances just like anything else is very helpful. Thank you for that.
if it’s under 10k, it should be few enough numbers for you to see what you are doing
That sounds interesting, but I’ve also heard that people want that to trigger a ‘sell’ for that item.
it’s purple by default (at least as it is right now), since this is an option to use in fleets. If you change you fleet color to red, this radial menu will be red (although a bit darker). If it was not different, I’d be worried that you might not notice if you mistakenly trigger the normal radial menu and instead of broadcasting warp, you warp yourself.
And I’m not sure about the RM in other places, I could see the case for adding it to broadcast list, but not so sure about the Asset list (although I totally know where you are coming from with that)
Ok, that makes sense. You are talking about the overview appearance color that you can set in the Overview Settings. Interesting approach.
With regards to radial menu and item sell triggering. I don’t know how other people think about it and it’s probably definitely not a little thing anymore but I think it would be very interesting to be able to use the radial menu on items/ships in your hangar that includes options like View Market Details, Sell Item, Create Contract (maybe combined into the second layer for market activity), Show Info, Put in cargo of active ship/Use in industry. etc. Personally I sometimes have difficulties finding the View Market Details in the ever growing right click menu and a Radial Menu could make this a lot more convenient. A thought for a general potential future overhaul/functionality expansion of the RM.
tbh, it would clash so often with dragging that it would be annoying (years ago I prototyped it, but we never really ran with it). There are cases where it already clashes a bit with dragging, but it’s not available anywhere that is as ‘drag-heavy’ as the hangars.
Even if my two submitted ideas “Ability to warp to where previously aligned” and “update anomaly distances towards other anomalies upppon landing in one” have not been addressed yet I’d like to give a big kudos to karkur for taking the time to address other small QOL changes because they make everyone’s lives better thx CCP
Also I noticed that the “permenant bracket in the center of the screen that shows where my ship is” that was introduced last year has gone missing, was that an intended change ?
Yeah, we didn’t remove the bracket, it has always been that you only see it when zoomed out. It’s based on the size of the ship how much zoomed out you need to be to see the bracket. The rough idea is that about the time you stop seeing your ship on screen you get the bracket (although we only divide the ships in 5 ship size groups for this, so it varies a bit for the smallest ship belonging to a level and the biggest one)
I know you don’t plan to remove it, but please do keep that bracket around as well as the little circle you can get by clicking your own ship. They are very handy for lining up drag bubbles; if the far gate (or other object) and the ship circle have the near gate in them you are in-line and your drag will work. Without that placing them would be a pain in the butt.
So I have tried to look at them ships and my first impressions are mixed. The Arbitrator has a really capacitor and could use a nudge. The Omens are really cool now and can be nasty laser kiters.
I still need to check out the Dragoon but I already have a fit for her. The Corax look okay-ish but not fast enough. A little nudge in speed would go a long way.
