Wrong KI topic linked in General Feedback… Also: I am not even in the game yet and already see any issue with Photon: [grafik] Look at this huge notification window that is the smallest possible size. See all this ridiculous amount of wasted, empty space? Why? What is the point of this ridiculous waste of space… And on top of that: Text in this window is harder to read. Great. I’m already looking forward to testing Photon again and turning it off again.

Photon: Even in Compact Mode, my cargo window requires 20% more width to display the same 3 icon columns that the old UI managed to display. Bad. Row contrast between selected and unselected rows in the Probe scanner is too faint. Bad. The Recover Probe button in the Probe scanner window is tiny, squished into a corner and not a Button. It’s just a symbol that does not follow the Button design that Photon claims to use. The old UI does this much better. Bad. The buttons to manipulate…

AIR Activities now add an unremovable New Thing indicator to the EVE menu because I have X unclaimed rewards. Despite me having turned off Blinking for that window and I don’t care about the rewards. Great. The same problem applies to the Redeem Items window. It has the colored New Things marker on it and I cannot remove it unless I clear out all the things. In the old UI, I could open it and close it and the blinking was gone. Bad UI design.

It’s nice that CCP “fixed” the Neocom not adhering to transparency settings but I think they did not really understand what they were doing. For me, even with Transparency set to 0, the Neocom is still transparent. I have to set Light Background to 0 to turn transparency off in the Neocom. But now all windows that I actually want to be transparent are not any longer… Why not just add a “Dis-/Enable Light Background” in the right click menu for the Neocom, too? Why do you always make…

The Font Size options in ESC > General Settings > General do not impact the chat tab font size. But they do impact the font size of guests docked in stations/structures. The option to toggle “Use Small Station icons” is gone.

This looks like the corp does not belong to any alliance and only if you look really closely, you notice that tiny alliance name. Window Margin Size settings are nice, but in the Skill window they turn a window border as wide as an Houston high way [grafik] into a margin as wide as a German Autobahn [grafik] The margin is still wider than in any other window in non-compact mode. This is hilarious. [grafik] Photon ship 3D preview exceeds window border. [grafik] The Loot All button is clipping into the margin.

Probe scanner window in Photon: [grafik] Probe scanner in the old UI: [grafik] The old UI does a much better job at telling you what is going on with your probes, makes it easier to recall them, makes it easier to understand information and see it and buttons are much easier to see and use. Photon removes button design, hides information and makes very a important button not only not look like a button but also makes it much smaller. Old UI is better than Photon here.

Next reason why Photon is trash: I am a chat channel moderator and have to write mod mails occasionally. In these mails I need to post chat messages that violated the rules and moderator responses to that. This needs to be done with time stamps. Since time stamps for every single message are stupid clutter, I don’t have them turned on. In the old UI, I could just turn on time stamps and the chat would show them for past messages. I could then copy the messages needed for the moderator action a…
